hi tomIndeed I do work for a supplier, I sell plenty of Jasics and make it very clear that it must be registered and serviced for the 5 year warranty to be valid.
I think the only warranty I know that doesn't need to be services every year is the Oxford MIG's and the new Parweld "no quibble" warranty.
All other warranties that I have ever read have contained some sort of maintenance or service clause which is entirely understandable in my opinion.
....it is recommended that this be carried out by........kind of misleading.it would be clearer if they the words warranty and void fairly close?
Does a lightly used tig welder automatically require testing and maintenance every year by a sqp?i think it would be no harm, but a warranty voiding pweweckwisite?did i spell that right hugh?
In the warranty terms i have had for each machine,i seem to recall the fact that 'necessary maintenance ' is the term often used.that is very different to saying a 'maintenance is necessary by a suitably qualified person OR advising the welder be returned to the importer'.Most sellers will make it quite clear when we sell the Jasic machines, I know it's what we do at our company.
Millers warranty requires regular maintenance, so does ESAB, Lincoln I don't know because I don't deal with them, EWM specifically states that is must be services once per year by an authorised engineer, fronius have in their warranty that the warranty can be excluded if the maintenance instructions of each individual machines are not followed.
I can provide links to all the warranties if they're needed.
In my opinion, it's an industry standard to require maintenance for warranty.
Rightly or wrongly the very last paragraph spells it out:
3. Failure to complete the registration within the specified time period or to complete the recommended maintenance will invalidate the extended warranty period.
i guess im not the only one who thought the situation needs a little clarificationSituation clarified. Thanks for the link.
I guess you'd need the operators handbook to see what "routine maintainance" you'd need to get done, but for a small 230v MMA inverter I can't imagine it would be much, if anything at all
Tom i was just going over old posts and have spotted you mentioning the terms at least onceMost sellers will make it quite clear when they sell the Jasic machines, I know it's what we do at our company.

They are behind r-tech then, as r-tech offer a no quibble return to base warranty. Its only 2 years but it is extendable to 4 i have been told.
It doesn't matter whether it's a blow out or full service it's certainly not going to be covered if you carry out the maintenance so as far as your concerned it needs to go back to the service centre annually for what ever maintenance is required. While I'm not knowledgable in there products and have never owned one what I have read about them from there own literature I think is pretty self explanatory personally. It doesnt clearly state what recommended maintenance exactly is.can i take off the covers and remove the dust or does it need to be pat tested and load banked?
