Using a jump is a great idea, make a feature of a 'fix' then it is invisible.

Now that is something else. Brilliant well done. I've been making one of those for the past six months, in my very limited spare time. Puts mine to shame, I think I'll go and lie down in a darkened room and sulk!!
Has the client seen it's progress? If they have they must be very pleased.
Hi Malvern
Thank you very much! Haven't you don't a big horse before?
He has seen the progress and is very happy, which has at least made me comfortable with the time it's taken. My business has been put on hold for over 3 months (including a month holiday) so I'm a little dry and need to get back on my next orders.
Looking good so far, are you going to finish it properly. I hate to see a job half done.
Welding the rest of the body to match the head would be a lovely job.
I could clad it rather than using 8mm bar on the whole thing.
I'll have a look thanks!!Did you watch the programme on the guy that made the kelpies ?
He did the horse heads using flat cut in various lengths, leaving gaps in between ( well on the small heads anyway ) there is a link on here somewhere to it.
I thought it looked great
Thanks Jeff, I powder coated a frog I made and although it lost a bit of that texture the gloss smooth finish eventuates certain features. It's a tough oneI think powder coat will give a good durable finish on the body, mane and tail where the steel is untextured, on the face will you lose some of the detail that works so well.... just a thought...jeff...
