I've got 14 or more potted oaks grown from acorns now seven years old that are slowly being turned into six inch tall Bonsai trees .
The have not always been properly watered the house sitter didn't bother looking at them when we went away for three weeks holiday, it looks like you didn't water it enough or regularly or it has been in a too hot sunny aspect. .
Perhaps put it in a shady area , stand it in a bowl of water for an hour to reactivate the soil & leave in partial shade so it will not get baked again the buds ought to reactivate in about ten days .
Oaks are pretty sturdy plants and can take a lot of abuse , it looks like the emergency buds are still available .

Bag full of fresh coffee grinds to try. As in the Waitrose bag is full of these smaller bags. I could get this or more every day.
Last year I dried them before sprinkling round the beans as loose powder. These today will go on as is, in little mounds around each plant.

Luckily I can get these coffee grinds in bulk each day. Quite pungent. Whether it works is another thing.
Had to remove one seriously chewed bean plant and replace with one of the spares

I reckon a metal top to your raised bed would work...shaped to have a drip edge. They're unable to get under it without gravity taking over...have not tested myself but I looked at buying the edging!

If you built a suitably strong frame, you could hang the bean planter a few foot off the ground. The only slugs would get in are from existing eggs or that birds drop.
I know they are quite good at climbing but it should be easy to slug proof a few SHS poles that make up the frame

I wonder,,,, seeing as it's suggested to kill slugs by popping them in some salt.........make up some wall paper paste and add a fair amount of salt to it then paint the salted paste over the top edges of the beds . Do it every few weeks to keep it topped up incase of dilution by rain . Also give the beds at least two generous nematode treatments on wet ground spacing them out a month apart.
I seem to recall reading that the big slug " Tiger slugs ??????? " in the picture is a recent import from Dutch glass house plant growers & yes , I've just checked it out ...they get cannibalistic tendency's

Got a nasty surprise ab hour ago . I'd slipped a 16 inch length of scrap grey soil pipe that had been cleaned out over each of my leeks and garlics . Now the garlics are showing signs of being ready , I pulled the tubes off only to find dozens of big fat snails on the inside tube walls. .
So I'm currently standing 10 garlic tubes on a tray and have given each tube a decent dose inside with a slug killer.. hope it works with sodding girt big snails as well .

Grown from medlar seed, 7 years until first real harvest.
I’ll have to repeat this method of growing trees one more time and I’ll bring seeds to Slovenia.
Usually medlar is sold in our stores, brought from Italy. One and a half times larger, but tasteless and watery.

Two more of my trees, grown from seeds. Peach and fig. The peach is constantly sick and I have seen the harvest probably once in 10 years. No means of fighting viruses help; the leaves become rusty, although the tree blooms profusely. The figs dropped their fruits this year, but have been producing abundant fruits for the last 4 years.
Off - The design of the gate grille is mine, custom made. I wasn’t into welding then. I made the tops of the pillars myself from polystyrene foam + plaster.
