How to stop this

Well I'm still enjoying it and practicing that start stop still having a problem with the stopping though. Hope I'm getting there though. Last ones for those in to a bit of slag peel.

Can't wait to try a bit of tig. Only tried it twice for round two hours so definitely want to try again soon

Iv tried having a play with the amps this time also started on the other side. Ground it out each time but do need to get a wire wheel for grinder to. Hoping to try tig this week if can get a set up in work.

I don't think it's excessive personally.
There is a lot of runs there
I'd expect a fair bit of spatter.

Do some single runs and check how much smoke powder and spatter you get in comparison. You might be using rods past their "sell by date" and might have been damp etc.
You might have too long an arc , but don't get hung up on that for the mo.
Millscale, plus shagged rods can produce smeg, butch MMA welders often say there is no need for clean up before welding, but Prior Preparation Prevents Pssst Poor Welds no matter whether MIG/TIG/MMA (well, according to the Norlanders law that is)
MMA will burn thru bad prep/un prepped work if needed but you should prep the job if you can. Its like painting really

I don't run much 6013, but I don't remember getting that much, I was running fincord flat and vertical.
Saying that I always cook my rods in a quiver before use and grind the mill scale off

Me dad told me about this. Cooking the rods never heard about it before. Something to dry the flux out or something

Yeah with 7018 it's necessary to literally bake them with 6013 stick em in a heated quiver for a few hours before use

You dont need to bake a low hy on the first use out of a vac pack. If you don't burn the whole pack in that session then you should really bake them after that as they are like sponges for sucking moisture out of the air. All electrodes run and strike up nicer with a bit of warmth through them as you say but I never bother with rutiles. I just keep em in a dry sealed carton.

Get a wet 7018 and put about 1" of weld down and watch the steam that comes off it, then you will see why you heat them for yourself.

Yeah I use vac paks all the time but you do pay more for them and lots of people still buy them just in the cardboard boxes.

I messed up really bad. It was going o so well. I thought I would try a butt weld whilst we had a load of 21/2" elbows around. I did the filet and did a cap. It Looked good then I started grinding down and got little carried away. Did another run anyway. Least got another chance which hope can try on tomorrow or next week.

Did some more runs on the X defiantly going move on to the other side
