Hmm, thinking trampoline springs, or maybe gas struts, just playing with ideas, got these cogs, for the articulations.

Gave those wheels of steel a little brush up, angry grinder split them in two.

I've been thinking about the articulation, so drew this up on CAD, as @selectedgrub would say.

Just throwing ideas around.

Recently I solved a similar problem - new legs for the plate rolling machine

I looked at a lot of photos of old Victorian machines made of cast iron. I wanted to repeat the spirit of the style from the available materials available for processing. My capabilities are plate rolling machine, plasma cutting, angle grinders, MIG / TIG welding and other little things.

I rejected the method of repeatedly cutting a strip of steel, to give curvilinearity. Previously, I tried this method, it is not accurate and labor-intensive.

PS - I'm not going to clap your hands to your design, sorry. It is devoid of any functionality or reminder of functionality.
