Good tip, but I have no idea how to manage layer lines
The fact that it’s printing with minimal help is an achieve the for me
Once you have done a few you will get the hang of it, every day is a learning day.

It's not the microstepping as such that gives the silent drive, it's the switching frequency is increased so it's above the human audible range, so you no longer hear the motor windings ringing. The drivers on the main board use microstepping technology which gives a silent drive.
There are tons of material to read about how it works and it's pro's and con's.
It does wonder with the noise anyway even if you loose torque.
Assume the position and I'll explain! He seems a bit too keen about the subject to me.
True, but goes hand in hand. It is marketed as microstepping and a lot easier to find information and get a bit of understanding with that wording for electronic illiterates, as meIt's not the microstepping as such that gives the silent drive, it's the switching frequency is increase
If you use Cura there's a setting to manipulate holes, since they always come out smaller.Good tip, but I have no idea how to manage layer lines

When ever you fill out those official forms, there’s never an option for **** artiste ?The million dollar question is
what am I professional in?
Yeah it's an Ender 3 pro. TBH I'm happy with how it works but I would be happier if it was quieter. I looked up that bigtreetech board and it's virtually the same price as the 32 bit Creality one. Watched a review vid and the guy went rocketing through instructions about downloading files from github and editing configs then compiling formware. I'd rather spend the extra fiver or so and have a drop-in board ready to go.@Pete. I can't remember what printer you have, if its an Ender then silent boards are available and depending on the model they are available in 32bit as well
I have done a silent board swap on my Ender 5 Plus and the steppers are now really quiet
The BTT board is a drop in replacement.Yeah it's an Ender 3 pro. TBH I'm happy with how it works but I would be happier if it was quieter. They're all very similar, some are better at some things and other slicers are better at other things, but all slicers are designed to do the same job. It mostly comes down to personal preference, so best way is to give it a go and see what you think. I tend to use prucer slicer as I liked it when I tried it, you may prefer cura or MC.Is cura different, better, easier than matterconttol?
I was taught how to use MC, I’m no expert but seem to have grasped the basics
as a very beginner amateur will cura bring me any advantage?
The e3 mini was designed to be a direct replacement for the ender 3 series of printers, hence the e3 name, but even though the option is there if you want to mess about with the firmware, you don't have to. BTT also do other boards, but the other ones are larger so won't fit internally on the Ender 3.The BTT board is a drop in replacement.
You only need to compile firmware if you want to change something from stock.
ahh minor detail. Just build an extension .......This is what I fancy - a resin printer:

Sadly, at £280 you also need one of these at another £115

But I have absolutely no need for one, nothing to build, and nowhere to put it (especially with the resin fumes to contend with).

They don't actually go hand in hand.
You could have a silent full step drive if you wanted, it's just the motors would sound mechanically 'clunky' at lower speed due to the sudden steps, rather than the sound you get from a pwm drive making the motor windings ring in the audible range.
As with lots of subjects popular with hobbyists, there is a lot of nonsense posted on various sites by 'experts' who quite frankly don't have a clue.
