Not that I'm aware of. There is a limited amount you can do with the original mainboard though as it has limited memory and is only 8 bit. A lot of people wanting to upgrade it go for the big tree tech mini e3 board which has more memory and is 32bit, so can run the latest versions of the firmware and is a direct replacement in terms of wiring.

now, how does changing a computer board change the noise from the stepper motors?
Im noticing that the fan in the PSU makes the most noise. My printer is also located next to my desk
Changing the computer board gives better stepper motor controllers which makes the stepper motors quieter. I haven't actually done mine yet as I made an enclosure which kind of does the same thing, but all the research I've done says the creality silent board is still 8 bit and has better stepper motor drivers, whereas the mini e3 board is a similar price, has the better stepper motor drivers and is 32bit, so is now upgradable in the future eg will allow the newer firmware. There are a lot of reviews on YouTube about it for you to be able to decide if you think it is worth it or not though.

The drivers on the main board use microstepping technology which gives a silent drive.
There are tons of material to read about how it works and it's pro's and con's.
It does wonder with the noise anyway even if you loose torque.

ive downloaded a Thing from thingiverse, put into matter control, sliced it and saved it as a g code file onto memory card

The latest Creality board, V4.2.7, is 32 bit too. The earlier silent boards, V1.1.5, which I believe mine probably is, were only 8 bit.

The only thing I would say is depending on orientation when you print, the magnets may not fit without a bit of fettling.
Its an issue I am running into atm with some bending jaws I have designed for my little vice.
Also watch which direction your layer lines run, this is where 3d prints are their weakest and stress along the layer lines may cause your print to split.
