I've recently purchased a Defender 90 (truck cab) with a view to doing what you have Kim, and was looking for a few hints and tips/ideas. Having stumbled upon this thread via Google, I've been engrossed in it all week and very much looking to seeing the finished article.

All I could really say is. Take what you're thinking of spending and double it, maybe tripple it!
It's a lot of time too. Everything takes so much time. And if you're like me, you can't live with something being done incorrectly then it'll take even longer haha
Amen to that! I restored a motorbike recently, which took 13 months, although I originally planned it to take 3! Optimistic or what!
As for budgets, well I prefer to be blissfully ignorant - it'll get what it needs to take me round Africa.

Looks a bit naked at the back - are you putting a cover over the rear load area or a hard top?
