I gather driving on convoy lights is quite interesting.

well the land rover pixies have struck again! this time i have no clutch the peddle is very squidgy in the cab. it has been leaking a bit of clutch fluid for as long as i have had it so i think it has leaked out and got air in the system. I have a new slave cylinder to fit that was heading towards the tdi but needs must! have hear of a way to back bleed using a new oil pump can and tube any one tried it?

I'm going to pick up a lightweight at the weekend
I went against everthing i know and have been told and bought it on a whim without viewing!
I will either be lucky, or as i expect very stupid...

I picked it up the other week, well happy with it, all original engine etc (not the roof though). Turns out it's an early s3, the 19th made, born may 1972 so free tax
I needs a few parts though, anyone got a spare bulkhead for small money??

I gravity bled my clutch first a bit, then the trad way but with a tube with a one-way valve. Was nice & easy. Not sure if there's a different position of the slave on 2a's though, that makes it easier than on 3s?

its being a real pain at the moment. couldn't get the nut to undo with it insitue so ended up removing the whole thing. then got the nut out with big mole grips and decided a new one was in order. had fun straitening the pipe enough to get the flange tool on it but with gas to warm it managed it and have a new nut fitted ready to try again tomorrow! many thanks to howburn!

Is it all bad? My friends lad got two footwells and one door pillar to repair his from the local Land Rover and 4x4 supplier in Matlock Paddock spares

I could repair it (pic shows the damage) take a bit of work though. It would be nice to have one already repaired and galved, along with the rest of the parts needed, as i would like to take a week out and to do the rebuild all in one go.

Lwt is narrower for starters of course, footwells slightly different also. Removable top (note 2a and 3 are slightly different to each other). Different around the dash and inside. So just a few differences unfortunately. Puts the price of Lwt bulkheads and tops up.

Someone does, or did, make repro tops (they tend to rot the most) but be sitting down before you look at the price

Hence a fair few Lwts with plated over vents and/or top welded to main part, or cut out completely and replaced with plate like mine was.
