I have the head torch version and its brill on the pushbike very long range and defined beam

I bought this one and was so impressed that I immediately sold on my Hope LED lights, several years old admittedly, but the LED Lenser was superior in so many ways that it made having both pointless seeing as I don't ride in the dark, if I ride at all, these days.

A few of what I use at work. Two million candle power hand lamps, 170mm reflectors, put the big 240mm reflector on and it turns a really good lamp into an incredible lamp. The torch below the two hand lamps is an IR torch for night vision. A four cell maglight, old school! The two below it are the NM 800 and the T67, can change the Leds in both these torches( different colours, red, green, IR) . A selection of mini maglight and two head torches. Got a load more but they are scattered all over the house and vehicles.

I have one of these which I won in a motoring magazine competition. Very clever in that it'll accept any one of three battery sizes - AAA AA or CR123 Good light output and compact size for slipping in your pocket

I used to use this in my early days.



But recently upgraded to a new fangled lamp.



All joking aside I use LED head lamps and small AAA Led torches at work.

So much light for such a small outlay.

Some torches have outputs quoted in LUMENS and some CANDLEPOWER........I read that Lumens divided by 12.57 = candlepower.......so my 12000 lumens torch is about 1000 candlepower, so my 2 million candlepower lamp is 2000 times brighter........I must be missing something as it isnt

Reason I like this is cause it gives option for tight beam and flood, think it has zoom too

I like Fenix torches, very well made but as with most LED torches now, they seem to have a good many more functions than you actually need, or even understand. At home in the porch though I have a Javelot. It lights the garden up like it's noon in the Sahara. Bit overkill but makes the missus feel safe so that's all that matters. I use 18650 rechargeables in it, a good 1000 yard torch.
LED Lensers are good too but the Fenix has the edge on build in my opinion. I sell both makes and can't remember the last time I had a return.

Their head torch is good to use but I find it turns on in the tool box or glove box so is often flat when I need to use it meaning I need to pull out the rechargeable pack and put AAAs in, not a big deal but a pain non the less.

In the car I have a cheapo eBay one, a peli head torch and 4d fake maglight from toolstation so I can pretend I’m in the xfiles

Iv got an ledlenser but it’s in my work toolbox which has a few small ones plus my rechargeable workshop lights and for winter a lovely halogen one to keep me warm!

I have got an eBay cheapo for night cycling and it’s lasted 3 years and is brilliant for £12 will try and get a pic of it

I have a couple of oldish led lenser torches I'd like to use for biking. One uses 3 aaa batteries the other uses 4, both have a plastic battery holder that screws into the end cap which then screws into the torch. Can I use rechargeable batteries in them? Or is there a interchangeable battery pack available?

My Chinese torch came with a sleeve tube to convert it to use 18650 battery. It seems to last longer than the AAA option and brighter.

The big brands are struggling now, the Chinese are knocking out better torches for fractions of the price.

There are forums with mainly Europeans and Americans, designing new torches on a regular basis and having them built directly by the Chinese manufacturers, they are way ahead of the big brands now with properly designed thermals, complex UI’s and unbelievable power.

BLF A6, infact any BLF torches or the Emisar D4 type lights are worth a google.

These aren’t click on, click off type lights, you will need to learn the UI but trust me it, you will never go back to Fenix/Lenser etc

Look on ebay there are Chinese versions for £3.....Ive got loads of them, maybe 12......only one ever broke.......much brighter than my LED Maglight that was a ridiculous amount of money....but doubles as a baseball bat should it ever be needed......
Ive got one chinese that claims to be 12000 doodahs of light....its seriously bright....brighter than my grandsons branded one that cost £70
