Don’t think any of my torches would intimidate anyone, what they are clamped onto might though
[
Five torches and fork andle, bright but could be better
I have also just gone through the torches scattered around the place to put fresh batteries in ready for the dark season, I also have a few areas of green corrosion on one torch.I have one of the small ish led lensers, was very good but I left it a long time unused with batteries in and they leaked, and now it’s a bit iffy turning off and on. My fault really, rather than a torch problem but it was very good before, if a bit pricey.
The trouble is with stuff like torches, knives and a lot of outdoor kit is that it's marketed to 'preppers' who like to think they are preparing for the end of the world with all their gadgets, which in turn means that a lot of perfectly good gear ends up with stupid features.
Had a play with one of these the other day, seriously impressive bit of kit. I use a torch quite regularly at work, so ordered one in. Be here in a few days.

I had a chat with the sales guy on the Ledlenser stand at the Screwfix Live trade show last year. Unfortunately there were no free samples on offer. It seems that the reason their lights are so good is that the lenses are made of optically-ground glass, as opposed to just being a piece of roughly-cast plastic.
Well, they say imitation is a form of flattery... mine arrived from Amazon yesterday. Reassuringly weighty, good pouch too.
(On Thursday evening's dog walk in the woods the dogs came across what I think was a deer, possibly muntjac, and a chase ensued. I had initially feared it was a badger and I know the whippets might well have come off worse if they'd cornered it. Couldn't see what was going on with the small torch I had.)
Yes, I really do think that the lenses do give LED Lenser torches the edge over many that might offer more lumens.

Initial impressions are it’s a tad bigger than I was expecting, but not an issue.
Mark 1 version actually more usable you can select how powerful each led kicks out or put both on max with a few press of button currently bodged onto a GoPro mount
Me too!
I like the fact that the default power level is medium and you press again for low - the boost is only momentary by pressing on the button.
