LED Torch

wife brought one of the parkside rechargable LED lamps from Lidl for the workshop. Tried it and frankly for a tenner, can't fault it, decent light, and good battery power. Been using it for a week now, for what it is, not a bad deal, and at a tenner, if it gets dropped, damaged or whatever, I won't be worrying about it. We bought another one, so have them on alternate charges.

already have a couple the big maglights for when I needed a proper torch, but just grab the cheapy now...

The trouble is with stuff like torches, knives and a lot of outdoor kit is that it's marketed to 'preppers' who like to think they are preparing for the end of the world with all their gadgets, which in turn means that a lot of perfectly good gear ends up with stupid features.

Parm if you want something “pointy” try a collimating lens it like a laser beam this ones from tiablo.

Well, torch has arrived.

Very well packed and in a neat presentation case. Initial impressions are it’s a tad bigger than I was expecting, but not an issue. Superbly engineered and the lens is something else, polished smooth. The beam focus is by sliding the front bezel forward and back rather than the traditional rotation. The button on the back feels positive.

The canvas style pouch is very substantial and neatly stitched with contrast thread.

It’s very well made and I can see why it’s expensive.

Gonna take it out for a test and will post up some pics

Ive got a LED torch thats very small yet still really bright.....it was a bit more expensive than my usual.... £8 i think.......its that small I cant find it to take a picture.......about 1" dia and 2" long

I have a few led lenser torches and they were good, haven't killed any of them and been 6/7 years or so.

But they were expensive.
Was looking at the copies and thinking about buying a couple for the glove boxes so can knock about.

I used to use my million candle power clulite lamp that earned respect .used it for lamping rabbits with the gun and dog could light up half the fields . a rabbits fast but a whippet can run and turn faster

I spent a fair while focusing in my Clulite one evening , way back from a white asbestos barn wall over a field of new cut stubble using my little 4x4 as a stable platform. , mounted it on a bespoke under barrel mount . When set up with my LU 55 6 - 24 using a stock trigger pressure button it was something to behold either on my .22 or .223 .
Till I focused it in I didn't realise the massive improvement in light quality gained over 200 or so mtrs .

I’m quite impressed with this purchase. Let’s see how it fairs up during use. Getting put through it’s paces on the Isle of Wight next week

Picked up on of these from Travis Perkins today. Cheaper than online too.

Nice well made torch and suits my needs.

Strong magnet on the base.

Hold the button down as you slide open and it's red light. They don't mention on their video.
