Not sure who makes them but I’m really hard on my socks and the cheap ones often don’t last the day.
You do wear shoes, don’t you?

I assume you know the cost of a Snap on 3/8 drive ratchet?
£109.26

That makes your set even better value.
I also have issues getting any Snap on Changed under warrenty
mine is a black non chromed one was £46 in August. Only thing I don’t like is there isn’t a socket release so when your covered in oil it can be a sod to get the socket off
I don't mind the none quick release in bigger sizes but not a fan in 1/4 drive. They are certainly better sealed but as you say sometimes when you have oily hands it feels like the socket is never coming off. Weird how then sometimes you manage to knock one off and it lands somewhere you can't see or reach

The best thing I ever had from snapon was a free hat. I would never buy any of their ridiculously overpriced bling but my old boss did simply for the man in a van and instant replacement of broken stuff. The best thing I got from snap on lately, pressie from a mate in England, was socks!!
I thought they were just a novelty but they are indestructible! Not sure who makes them but I’m really hard on my socks and the cheap ones often don’t last the day.
Lol
yup I do and I literally walk out the bottoms of em! My legs are knackered and don’t walk properly so I drag my feet when I walk it annoys the wife! Physically there’s nowt wrong it’s the wiring that’s ********. Bad earth or sommat?!?!

I'm not a Snap On queen/evangelist most of my sockets/spanners are Kennedy-Pro but if you pick up a Kennedy ratchet compared to a Snap On one they are a world apart. Some of their pricing seems ridiculous, the hard handle ratchet screwdrivers are £70+ RRP now but if you use/like ratchet screwdrivers you cannot buy a better one and personally I think they are best screwdriver money can buy.The first one I bought was 25 years a go and I still have it now. The crazy thing is if I sold it on ebay/facebook now it would make more money than I paid for it so looking at the bigger picture it was an absolute bargain.

I have been buying, on and off for the past ten years or more from the same guy and I never have a problem. Quote} My issue is because we have had several different Snap On Men and I buy so little they are reluctant to change things, the last one was only interested in getting me to sign up for credit.
They were for a couple of years but not anymore.@Robbie260 The old Homebase chain is now owned by bunnings. When I was last in England i bought quite a bit of Ozzie stuff from them. Including some loose 6-point 3/8 drive sockets at £1 each. Those are really good. They stock the yank makes like empire too. Not as cheap anymore in there but it's better stuff I've a feeling they had the brand you mention too

One of my local Homebase stores (Sydenham) became a Bunnings, with full external rebrand, loads of new useful stock, I commented to Mrs.ZX9 that it was like Homebase had turned back the clock to the early 90's when they were a proper DIY store. It did not last for long, I even went in just after the Bunnings sell off to pick the corpse of useful tools but there was very little of the old Bunnings range left and no silly cheep bargains.
I think I could change your mind about the ratchet screwdriver, I have a couple but I also have these, which I much prefer and I think are better quality:
https://www.onlyqualitytools.com/catalog2/PB_Swiss_Tools/PB_8510_R_Set.html cheaper too!
I have said this before but worth repeating. When I go, which I invariably will and long before my better half, I know that there is a substantial amount of money "in the shed". And it is a substantial amount, of quality, brand name stuff that will sell easily and bring top money. She will not be faced with a rusty toolbox full of scrap. If you have quality kit that is desirable, you can sell it. If you have a boxfull of scrap nobody wants it, (my cousin is my executor, would like to see anyone pull the wool over his eyes). Just for completeness, I have labelled everything so she can look it up if she wants.
One brand that I really rate but hardly ever see mentioned on here is Stahlwille, I really rate their Allen keys, which I use often.
When i aas in oz on my shipping travels i had to go buy torque wrenches for the ship, on my excursions i may have got myself a few things. Wanted a quality but cheap socket set and spanner set for the pickup so i can keep my snapon kit at home. @Burdekin will know who these guys are my dads an ozzie and is always on about thier tv adds from the 60s usually featuring a scot in a kilt. Owned by facom so some quality as them and mac tools etc about a quater of the price. You Canna hand a man a grander spanner than a sid chrome.

Got the above socket set and a full set of metric and af spanners in seperate tool rolls for free from 8 to 19mm and something to 3/4. Seriously if this stuff was sold in the uk i seriously believe snapon would be out of buisness, same quality and best thing is its avalible in bunnings ozzie equivalent of B&Q and other tool stores so its easy to get and so so cheap in comparison too the big europe tool brands. Id say the same for some usa tool brands like channel lock and klien if they were sold in the uk at the price they are in america there would be no competition.
Williams is great stuff but hard too get a hold of, bacho actually makes a lot of snapons basic hand tools out side of sockets and spanners for them so buy bacho cheaper and same quality also 99 year warranty.
I think sidchrome are now part of the Mac facom Stanley DeWalt brittol family
Some of the tools can be bought with a different name on them usually cheapest over here being facom
It's this dilution that ruins many of these brands, the new Britool stuff just looks like cheap Draper stuff.
