hello, I should build a structure, to put it into operation I would need a crane, forklift or similar heavy machinery lifting device, on the net I accidentally found a device a device, I would like to know if in your opinion it could do the work of a crane or forklift in economy thanks.

The device is known as a 'roust a bout', made by Sumner in US. Google 'roust a bout crane' for specs. and capacity. Here in UK, they are expensive. As the pictures show, they are used for pipe fitting and their advantage is they can lift very close to a ceiling (i.e. minimal height of machine above suspended load) and in a corridor (narrow footprint).

They would work if you respect the capacity and most important have a flat, smooth, level surface to run them on. You need a second person on the end of the load to guide it into place. Do not try to move the device around on its wheels when the load is in the air and do not pull sideways on it as the base footprint is small and it is too easy to displace the load centre of gravity outside the base footprint.

For home use, you could improve it by making the legs longer and adding some weights (25l drums of water on a plywood platform) to the base.

in pratica devo sottovalutare se acquistare un dispositivo simile o noleggiare un gru o un macchinario, tenete presente che devo sollevare una profilatura su un terrazzo che è alto circa 10 metri da terra quindi tettoia metallica alta circa 3 metri e 230 durerà di esso mq, 250 mq, l'autogru impiega circa 80 €uro all'ora per il noleggio, tenete presente che occupa una certa quantità di traffico stradale con ulteriori disagi alla viabilità. Dovrei sollevare travi ad H lunghe 6 metri e del peso di 90 kg, e altri profili, tubolari e pannelli di copertura, ovviamente se il dispositivo più del noleggio di un muletto o di un sollevatore telescopico, del noleggio di un macchinario pesante, cosa ne pensi? grazie per l'attenzione.

They can be. You can get different attachments for them. Wide forks etc.

I just tend to view them as a strong man. They aren’t as versatile as a crane or hoist but they’re easy to use on your own and easy to move about.
They do a rough terrain one with pneumatic wheels I seem to remember

I would buy a load of secondhand scaffolding to make a gantry and then a chain hoist to lift things into place. After job done sell the scaffolding - hoist might still have other uses

Can you rent a telehandler with a slew on it? Usually cheaper than a crane.

unless I missed it is the frame gonna be box......
a small builders tower or 2 (reted cheaply or blagged) plus a few mates can get a lot done....
I can just lift a 7mx150x50x3mm box beam on my own....I'm 72.....
I built a 7mLx7.5mW cover with another added on to that 7mx5m with just a forklift and a young lad......
all we had to do was lift and bolt it together...all machining was done on the ground....
virtually just a few weld up high....well 5m.....
toughest part of the job due to planning, we were working on gravel...no conc allowed without full planning....
simples.....done it loads'a times.....

i.used my 5x5foot wide steel sectional scaffold tower on wheels to pull up my 20 foot wide steel trusses up on to the upright steel posts . just made some clamps to hold a 10 foot scaffold pole to the top of the tower and overhang one end 3 foot out with a chain hoist on it . the other end overhang 4 foot with a counterweight on and erected 6 of them single handed didnt cost anything to make and was quick . it could go up to 28 foot

thanks for the valuable suggestions, for the rental crane they asked me about 700-800 € uro per day I have to account for the expenses and will understand the right solution, effective and economical, if you have other ideas, photos or similar please submit them to me thanks. again for collaboration
