Gerbers are the files used to make a printed circuit board - you send the gerber files to the PCB house and you get PCBs back.

Top man. I’ve got a 10pin amphenol on order it’s the right plug. Board should have about 25-28mm clearance from the top panel when mounted.
Do you know what size the pot holes should be.

Nice. Are there any particularly high sticking out components on it or is it relatively flat.

Canvas is ready for its organs mate. Obviously you should build your own and others first as like I say I’m hardly ever gonna use pulse so I’m in no rush. but thought I’d do as much as I can now before you take it. Got some nice 12 core cable here and plug arrives tomorrow.

Everyone does what he can do best. That should lead to great results.

Not happy with the headers, but the board is laid out for 2.5mm pitch so plenty of options - KiCaD only has these rubbish pin header strips in the library. But it will look something like this:



Board is laid out for 1206 surface mount stuff with plenty of excess pad for easy hand assembly if required. KiCaD has a nice set of 'hand soldering' SM pads which are wider, I've used those footprints on this board.

Indeed I am.... just a small run to start with, minimum order quantity from someone on aliexpress probably. The small volume UK board shops are just too expensive

Better, laid it out for connectors I have by the bucket load at work - the JST XH250 series. These are good connectors that take a decent sized wire in the crimp.

I got some made up from PCB Train which was, I suppose, fairly expensive but they did a good job.
I remember seeing a young lad starting up doing PCBs from his garden shed but forgot where I saw it, was a few years back.

The files have been sent for quotation from the first cheap firm I found on AliExpress.... we'll see what they come back at, they should be cheap and decent
