I did it by hand with a little 10cc syringe pump. If I was doing more then I'd invest in one of these:

The paste is quite stiff stuff to push out of a small nozzle, and the caps can benefit from a fairly well controlled quantity of paste to ensure optimum reflow performance. I had one dry joint on the surface mount tantalum due to too-little paste.

I didn't have any of the mating connectors for the 10 way connection back to the machine will probably be next week now before I can take delivery of those... the front panel design is an hour or two away from completion though. Does this look any good?



@Richard. the plan is to make a batch of 10 panels to this size and shape (the MOQ from the panel maker) but without the corners cut off. Everything else will be the same so it will fit your case. I'll leave you to trim the corners off with a saw and file them smooth. Does that sound like a plan? I can then use the others for normal sized cases (hopefully)

I soldered the test card. The pulse adjustment works. But there is one feature: pulsing current, background current and duty cycle depend on each other.
