Mancave extension

Not having a decent WPM under the floor slab , like my garage ( it does not have any ) allows moisture to creep by capillary action to rise up through the floor ( often noticed a day or so after some heavy persistent rain ) , it evaporates in cooler air giving a damp atmosphere . Cover it with rubber like you have & the floor will sweat between any unsealed seam .

Now I've put the vent in it's much reduced but I still get a skin wetting wetness under my rubber floor mats where it cannot breath & evaporate off . Due to living mid way on a long steep hill , really prolonged periods ( days & days ) of heavy rain see the wetness actually start to form shallow puddles in places on the floor .

Yes I did have a problem in an area where the screed was laid over the original yard concrete, it was like a big sponge when it was raining and you could see it was sodden although nothing in the way of water came to the top.I left it until there was a dry spell and drowned the whole floor in SPA, the floor soaked it all up and that was the end of the problem.

Interesting BOB what's th full name of the SPA you used ? Think I'd like to fully seal my floor in the mancupboard and all the floors in th bungalow just before we put in new carpets , as the cowboy builders appear to have used clingfilm for the not so water proof floor membrane

I mixed it 50-50 with water and flooded the place with it.

Long delay. An insane workload, kids buying houses and making grandchildren, helping a couple of mates move homes/lives and this place seem to soak up all my playtime. Embarked on a forced hour+a day on my stuff/toys at the beginning of the year and it's working well, been focused on things I can get on with without relying on others. Mancave has been useable for a long time but I flatly refuse to move in until it's exactly the way I want it.
Been building/working on my tool wall and cladding/sheathing the ply walls in dibond, I foolishly let a mate take some sheets which left me short, since found a new supply less than a mile away so I am back on it.

Not got around to installing the Polycarbonate yet, probably a job for this weekend.

Using Dibond on everything, it's so much easier to keep clean. I think it works out cheaper than paint if you include your time. Slowly working my way around the whole mancave extension

archi holds up the plastic against the 1" wood above it

or you can router / table saw the shape if you want makes no difference but you also have to consider a good grip with the architrive

much easier to slot it into architrive and screw that up instead

its just d bead arcitrive the last picture shows the 1x1 wood just screwed to the inside of the framing

yes but also remember your screwing the d bead to the ceiling

the small defusers/windows will hold up on there own with just one architrive and unscrew/hold as you undo the 3rd achitrive

the internal woods are just there as it gives an 1" something to screw too or seal too we have stick on rubber seals so acts like a seal for the window/ frame

the architrive is only there as a finisher/somethinng to hold the defuser up nice and tight you can seal the double hlased defuser just by sealing the ends but make sure there clean of anything

they use silver foil tape on the outside panels at ends to seal them
