That was a car I was doing for rallying .But it's been scraped .about 20 minutes ago. Don't have time to do them. Plus need room for when I get my other machinery

I am trying. But I can't help it. You see...what happened was this. Mrs moaning about all the lorries on driveway .So got shot of them. Now all clear...she happy. I more happy because I got my eyes on a big Kerry lathe.

Got the missing gear all cleaned up and installed. Just got to make the dog clutch taper bit.

Next bit is to clean up the original motor mount plate. Faffing thing weight a tonne. Some one previous has had a go at the two bolt holes. So I will weld those up and re drill new ones including the two pin holes that keep the plate in place when you take the lathe bed off.

Today I got the fixed steady all refurbished.
And it came out nice.

Also realised that my spare lathe came with the original trumpet stand. As the stand under my lathe isn't original. So this will be used . Strange why it has a very nice fj Edwards badge on it. I will remove this and clean up to hang on the wall .

Evening guys.
I need to weld up two holes on my Mellor lathe motor plate. I presume this is the standard cast metal. I not sure on the best approach. Getting a stick in there will be a nightmare. The holes have been badly hacked. My plan is to weld up. And re drill the mounting holes and pin holes.

Been slowly pressing on with the motor bracket. Removing the awful amounts of filler that's been slapped all over it. Can get it back to bare metal and sort holes. Then paint

Today's task was to line up the tray and bracket to mark where the new drill hole locations are before welding.

No matt. That's how they are. The lathe bed sits on top of the tray and kind of balance out the weight. There is supposed to be two steel pins that hold the motor plate in place when you take the lathe off
