yea loads, i will get them up when i have pics of the wing.
Well the prep went awesome the locks were good and i was really please with how flat i got it. However on spraying the colour i got a lot of overspray kinda dry marks, now i think i need to reduce the air pressure to the gun and narrow the fan wid is this correct? Also, It says on the technical specs it is dry within 8hrs at 20 deg, why do i have to wait until a week???
Also got harly any orange peel which i was happy about, just need to get the gun set up so i dont get as much overspray!"!!!!
Any help would be good, i would like to flat it today and get one more colour coat on, but im worry it wont be dry enough....
go back to spec sheet, does it list a slow thinners?
if so that is what you need, this weather it will be drying to fast.
if you narrow fan down your be getting to much paint over too narrow a area, that will let it run.dont rush it now.
drying forget spec, give it at least 3-4days,aweek would be better.
on closer inspection, most of what i though was dirt is actually "grains" of paint. Kind of like balls of paint this size of grains of sand, most of it isnt on the surface.......
Are you running with a filter on the pick up tube? Often blobs of paint are the flakes that come off the side of the paint tin. If it's a new tin how are you stirring the paint? Not a screwdriver I hope.
Most of my ideas on the subject are in the paint section of the forum. Advise for setting pressure and working out fan shape in there too.
No idea why the paint is taking so long to dry. Cellulose based or self etch stuff normally goes off in a couple of hours. Double check that your thinners are the correct type!
devillebis gti is a hvlp gun, meaning low pressure.saying that most people,me as well over drive them.meaning turning up the pressure from what is listed by manufacture.
try 2bar(29psi) if that seems slow up the pressure a bit at a time till your happy with it.
2bar is what devillbiss call for.
