Old paint removed. Cleaned. Polished. and sorted ready for paint.View attachment 215916
I did wonder this pete. The primer is a zinc phosphate. It will stay in the primer. No top coat inside.I'd watch what you paint those oil wells with, if it's a paint that the headstock oil affects you might block the oiling ports with melted paint gloop.
As far as the research I did. The headstock should have a shell tellus 68 oil.I'd watch what you paint those oil wells with, if it's a paint that the headstock oil affects you might block the oiling ports with melted paint gloop.
A total hate I have when people dont use the correct size spanner for the bolt... a hour with a file brings them back to a useable condition View attachment 216077 View attachment 216078
Yes definitely.12pt sockets and crescents are good for doing that. A guy at my old work called the Crescent a portable lathe!
I am still waiting brad for confirmation on the primer. It's fine on the rest of the machine. If it's not compatible for inside the casing then I can find an alternative but must be mat black.Tellus 68 is a mineral oil with some anti corrosion and anti wear additives. I very much doubt it will attack a proper paint but zinc phosphate is very porous and might flake off.
Did you see this ?
