Where from? Can't find them on amazon...buy enlight cool white ones not warm white
buy quality branded ones with 3 year warranty . ive fit 20 in a shop and there on 7 days a week and now been fitted 10 years
Hope they are better than the Philips tubes I bought out of screwfix, duller than the fluorescent ones I had before and flicker quite a bitI took what you said on board last time this subject popped up and recently bought Philip`s led tubes, time will tell.

ive just changed well over 60 6 foot flouros in a shop to 5 foot led and there a lot brighter and far less wattageI think with all this LED stuff the life span is totally mythical so buy local and buy branded so you can make use of the guarantees, im not convinced at the purchase cost to energy savings when compared to traditional filament/fluorescent either
id say you would lightly get your money back and more even over a few years even if you have to swap a few outI think with all this LED stuff the life span is totally mythical so buy local and buy branded so you can make use of the guarantees, im not convinced at the purchase cost to energy savings when compared to traditional filament/fluorescent either
I would have hoped to get more lifespan out of them although, they have racked up a lot of hours since I fitted them.
Magpie genes etc I'm just amazed you had to BUY them in the first place!
Sore subject. We recently did a strip-out of a huge bankrupt departent store up in London and they skipped hundreds. I only heard about it afterwards and ended up with one single unit which is now above my bench. Loads better than these Amazon ones too.
Every 6Ft Philips I bought for office at home failed, even the Liddle fittings have lasted longer No failures in 6 years, the PH ones at home not a 1/8 of the useI took what you said on board last time this subject popped up and recently bought Philip`s led tubes, time will tell.

@knighty how long have you had these lights in for?
I'm mightily tempted to get 5 or 6 of these.
People replace knackered ancient light fittings with LEDs and think wow! A lot of it is down to colour temperature. Whiter lights appear brighter even though they aren't. When you look at the actual lumens output between LED per watt and traditional fluorescent there isn't much difference. Throw in the poor lifespan and I think the savings are debatable. The main advantage of LEDs are they are much easier to install.I have found the LED`s are falling way short of their "guaranteed" life expectancy, I dont think mine are on for five hours a day seven days a week and I have changed most of them inside three years. That's a tenth of their supposed life expectancy, also noticed they start to generate a lot of heat when they are on the way out so probably using a lot more leccy to run them. Jury is still out whether they are a good idea or not.

My departed dads house, we leave 2 double candle wall lights on in the front room 24/7 to deter nosey folk, as its unoccupied and I don't like leaving it pitch black. After the bill arrived I found it cost £18 a month to run just those four small normal type bulbs.I think with all this LED stuff the life span is totally mythical so buy local and buy branded so you can make use of the guarantees, im not convinced at the purchase cost to energy savings when compared to traditional filament/fluorescent either
If you had a decent controller on them you would have a great disco! My brother has them all over his bedroom and can set them up to have multi coloured displays with lights chasing each other all over the roomMy cheapo solution. Mind you, I don't have a lot of headroom.
Just stapled to the ceiling with 10mm wide staples. Just wide enough not to do any damage to the strips. Not neat but functional and provide more than enough light.
