Newbie now with TIG.

I'm not shy will always post pics if they are bad. Most are bad .

Now i need to buy more filler rod. 316L 1mm or 1.6mm.

The trays will likely be grade 304 so you could use 308 which is cheaper than 316.
Like I say you may not need filler for those but if you do 1mm would suffice.

Your been waaaaaaaaay too ambitious dappa. Your first go at Tig and your welding 0.5mm bandsaw blades.
I weld my blades too but it's not where I'd suggest starting out. The trick is to clamp them tight to a heat sink, I made a brass jig for the job.
If your set on continuing with them let me know ill give you some pointers.

@Wallace actually gave me the idea and I've just copied it and done them the same way since. Never had a weld break yet in service either so it's a sound way to do it.

I've been splurging again . Bought another flowmeter and some fittings so they should both fit my reg and a quick release fitting so i can switch the reg between the mig/tig.

1/4" and 1 1/2", think i will need a hole saw now any recommendations?

No i will just find something that fits maybe 1" bps would be better for the filler.

I think your past the beads stage now. It's time you got on with the joints again. I would seriously entertain you get some aluminium as well. You've had it a couple weeks now and your not even sure the AC side of things is working. You could of bought yourself an expensive used DC only machine as there is no come back now.

I asked the place i buy the metal from if they have any alu, this is what they gave me 4mm thick. I have a couple of alu rods. So how do i set the machine up to test on this?

It's perfect for a test. Put a clear pic of the panel up and I'll dial you in for it.
