Hers: E36 325 M50TU IIRC From M52 onwards the filler was further forwards, so basically 328 onwards. Mine: M52 and S54

Cheers, that would be great, colour doesn't matter. Mine needs the 38mm spanner/socket to remove [although I'll double check tomorrow, belt & braces, me....] if that helps.

The first one will use 25m of filament, take 2hr 40 to print in layers 0.3mm high with 100% fill which means completely solid
The second will use 18m of filament and only take 2hr 05 to print because it's 50% fill which means other than the first few and last few layers that will be solid the interior of it will look like a honeycomb and because you have less to print it uses less filament and takes less time.

AF and sides, means he needs the Across the Flats measurement and the length of each flat side of the nut to make sure the tool he's gonna print for you will fit. You said you currently use a 38mm spanner/socket so that is the AF measurement.

^ Cool, Some of these tools grip around the outside of the plastic filter housing lid because the lids are known to break. I have the old style 13mm hear dolt fixings on all mine but I have one of the later style in the shed.

I've done the first one a couple of times now and I'm getting closer with the settings to stop the underside of it drooping too much and ruining the detail.

Depends what he needs, Pareto principle

The "car spanner" and funnel I drew for my wife, but if a drawing exists no point reinventing the wheel.

Freecad 2.0 has a shape generator so with number of sides and AF I can easlily generate a shape to use as a hole, draw a bigger circle with a handle too in sketch and then pad it to the tool thickness. Maybe write something funny in the handle for s??ts and giggles

I've never closely calibrated mine and adjusted drawings for interference fit. It's on the to do list.

Also temperature and material will make a difference to how it stretches and sags as will retraction setting so

Ah, first one as you've shown in pic 1which is AF. I did the 'Flats' from the pointy corner-to-pointy corner of the top hexagon. If I measure as you have in the last pic above it's 93.85 [say 94]

If it's going to hugely expensive, please don't proceed with planning & drawing. I say this as I have no idea about 3D printing & what it takes to do and produce a finished article.....

No, we had a thread about that type of adjustable spanner awhile ago on here, I was referring to the doublesided black plastic one that fit the oil cap and rad cap, that's a nice bit of work.
