Mk1 astra GTE with irmcher bitsPlease people don't just post photos, tell us what they are @Exuptoy for example...
We started on them age 11 on bombsites and wasteland, a Honda C50... (all the abandoned British carp was left to rust, being too impossible for us little gremlins to actually get going..)
I had the mk1and mk2 but the mk1 was much betterCorrect Rob, Irmscher twin lamp grille, tailgate spoiler and number plate backing, Irmmy alloys & steering wheel and Irmscher St2 head along with a Piper Vernier pulley. It was rapid too.
My neighbor's one is black with a gold lineI cannot remember where the exhaust exited i just remember it was blue and silver and very nice sounding
When the 1st Astra's came out, they were a big step up from Escorts, even the 1300's were a relatively sporty drive.Mk1 astra GTE with irmcher bits
Been watching the thread and a T2 is better than money in the bank. The other obvious one of mine is also the 1973 T2 bay window camper on its side for the last 8 years in my garage!
There’s a thread in here somewhere.

There is a westfalia version parked 120 meters from homeI sold this recently as it was not being used but loved it while it was with me, not a camper but a micro bus with a cooker and sink, 1.6 td went well and much better on fuel than my T25 petrol 1.9

Yes i had noticed the days of a cheap classic are getting shorter. When classic vehicles get to 40 years old they're price seems to go up exponentially.
Citroen HY vans for example of Morris minors are now 10 - 20 grand....
