What years that ? Similar reg layout to my '63 Commer. We got round to cleaning Bernard the A35 today, 55 years of dust and crud but the speedwell blue paint came up pretty good.

I have a 1975 mg midget in bits, i have pretty much sold the body so the front suspension will be going on the A35 to give disc brakes, if the engine is no good i have a few 1100 A series engines to fit so it could become a period correct modified carWhat are the plans for it? Would be nice to have it roadworthy without unnecessary restoration. There's something to be said for originality even if it's not immaculate. They are only original once.

I had a '68 4 door Minor with a 1275 and a type 9 5 speed gearbox. It was a fun thing to drive. In an A30 being lighter it should make it shift.I have a 1975 mg midget in bits, i have pretty much sold the body so the front suspension will be going on the A35 to give disc brakes, if the engine is no good i have a few 1100 A series engines to fit so it could become a period correct modified car

I built an old guy around here an A series 1310, ported head, mg metro cam and 13/4 su for a moggy thou. He took it in for “test” and the mechanic just stood there for a while, head on one side and said “there’s something not right with this”. Must have been 8 years ago, I saw him at a show last year, complaining of the rear oil seal leaking...I had a '68 4 door Minor with a 1275 and a type 9 5 speed gearbox. It was a fun thing to drive. Still got my Diamond estate and for extra rare bonus points its one of the 12 manuals, to most folks its all a bit meh but unless you've owned one and driven one they really were a superb motor, the noise of the straight 6 24v motor once wound up was a treat!I've had three "rare" cars - non of which would probably warrant a second look to the uninitiated.
1. Vauxhall Carlton "Diamond" - basically a 3000GSi, but in an estate. Only 99 ever produced for UK. (may have been more badged as "opel" in europe)
2. Vauxhall Omega 3.0 MV6 estate - unmarked police ARU version. (Basically MV6/sport chassis, but with bottom spec interior) - unique, or very close. Had a build number that tied it to a met. police special purchase order.
3. Lexus IS300 Sportcross - the only proper (if small) estate car Lexus ever built. <3000 produced worldwide
Yes. I _do_ like my estate cars
