I think I’m correct in saying he never actually went in one, just wrote the book, not GM as I put above, GM built it

Same thing Chevy was a subsidiary of GM Father in law at 6

Both were in the hit job.I thought that was a reference to the rear engined Chevrolet Corvair?

Ford got into trouble with the gas tank position in one model. If rear ended, it tended to catch fire. The compensation accusation was about that one.

When I were building an off road beetle buggy,the book I referenced from used to describe corvair conversions,published about 1970.

My old man actually had a corvair in the mid seventies had a fiberglass fast back conversion so it looked a little like a small charger . It was a non runner bought for about £60 IIRC he'd gone to look at at a MK11 jag ( you could buy them for peanuts too at the time ) and it was parked behind it in the garage . He sauced another engine and box from a place called DB spaes in leicester and him and his mate managed to assemble a good engine and box out of the two . And yes they did wheelie in the right circumstances as a broken bonnet catch and smashed windscreen confirmed . Sold it on for not a great deal of money only to see it touted in classic magazine about 12 months later as one of only a few in the uk at about six times the price he'd sold for

He heft his bike and was in the Alpine at some point getting his picture taken, its a small meet we do at a local pub and all sorts of motors turn up

As with some of the previous US trucks, I find the idea of lowering them excessivly detracts. It looks plain odd, like the springs are bust. (Opinions might differ...
