My Escort from around the same time
I guess if we’d all done that they’d not be worth anything. Still Iove seeing one out on the road though. We all should have squirreled mk2 Escorts away years ago. You could have built a garage just to keep them in and still be quids in with todays prices.
My mum had 2 of them, both 2 doors, a '76 1.1 and '78a 1.3, (first car I ever drove was the 1.3). Wish we still had them.
Those Harriers rusted from the inside out, did it survive?View attachment 436479
My mate’s Escort. Pictured around 1990.
I had a similar vintage mexico…78 on an S. it didnt survive, the roofs arnt very strong when you bounce them off a dry stonewall! Was a lovely thing! Lucky the wall was there or it may have barrel rooled. Those Harriers rusted from the inside out, did it survive?
Im sure he sold it for £750 without an MOT. Yes - it looked good, but hid a lot of rust. Those Harriers rusted from the inside out, did it survive?
We didn't have the money to build a garage .We all should have squirreled mk2 Escorts away years ago. You could have built a garage just to keep them in and still be quids in with todays prices.

My parents had a PL17 Tigre when they first moved up to D&G in the 70's. Eventually sold it in the late 80's as a bit of a basket case to a guy over in the Scottish Borders.Eddy was always talking about the work he was doing on it, sad he never got it rebuilt, quite a machine. He always had a few interesting cars that he worked on and drove: a Panhard PL17 was a favourite of mine and an early mk1 Range Rover V8 he had from new til his death.
Interesting car's, if I did nor recall Eddies light blue one, I would likely never of heard of them, he ran it for many years. My parents had a PL17 Tigre when they first moved up to D&G in the 70's. Eventually sold it in the late 80's as a bit of a basket case to a guy over in the Scottish Borders.
How could you get bored looking at that The Mk3 onwards Escorts just don't do it for me.Can’t remember whether Id posted them. Had the orange one for seven years and got bored of looking at it, so sold it at the right time for a massive profit.
Made an 800 mile round trip to buy the white one. Havent done a lot with it except polishing it. Hopefully with the garage and drive rearranged it will get out more this year

Used to share a lift with one of those (by one of those?). Driven most enthusiastically, four up down the lanes past where @sako243 lives. My abiding memory is of zero suspension travel, loads of grunt, holding my breath occasionally, and the tick tick tick sound of the boost control solenoid. Can’t remember whether Id posted them. This always makes me wonder if there's a modern car or bike this principal should be applied to. Something affordable like the escorts were back in the day.We all should have squirreled mk2 Escorts away years ago. I thought about it for the MGTF when they were a dime a dozen a few years back. But i lost my free storage so it was a non starter :-(This always makes me wonder if there's a modern car or bike this principal should be applied to. Something affordable like the escorts were back in the day.
