Some people don't seem to care about their surroundings and will drop litter/fly tip almost on their doorstep

Living in London I see this on a daily basis...it seems as a country we've given up on trying to educate people. Dropping litter really does boil my pee I find. Other day I watched some bloke cleaning stuff off his windscreen with a load of tissues...just dropped them on the floor and off he went!

As it happens it was a BMW driver...the usual "me first" attitude it seems!

My ex lives on an un-named track about 10 miles from the nearest town/Mcd/Burgerking/Kentucky Chicken etc place. She and her neighbours often end taking an empty bin bag when they go for a walk along the lane that passes their houses, and the bag is often full of takeaway rubbish by the time they get home - even if one the other nieghbours cleaned the place the day before. I can't blame the shops or their packaging, it's down to thoughless / ignorant folk who use the fastfood places then go for a drive in the countryside to throw their rubbish out of the car window

We have the same, being about 6+ miles from the nearest of their "establishments".

Aye, and I agree but you can hardly blame the fast food folk for the actions of their customers. It's a generation which has been given to think that 'someone' (unspecified) will clean up after them. I blame lazy parenting.....

I'm sure I've read that McDonalds actual have staff who clean up litter outside their premises.

It's not generation specific, I don't personally know anyone who would litter.

But I've seen all ages of people littering.


At aggregate levels generations are essentially the same.

This is where I redirect Mail/Express/Telegraph/Sun etc. readers and the gobby bloke at the end of the bar too when they start spouting "authoritatively" about climate change

i direct them to the above vids and suggest that we now dump it on there doorstep instead it dosnt go down well

as goes for council warnings well neither do they when you produce stats to do with there recycling and whats collected which company they use and where its being sent too

councils dont like it when they are shown there 2 faced and we are just dumping it on others doorsteps

so whilst they claim enviromental friendly
good collection of waste enviromental friendly disposal
councils are proven to be 5-10 percent in recycleable

you ask council if they are willing to have a dump on there doorstep and its a no my comment is why expect others to have your waste on there doorstep instead

the council claim we are not responsible for what we pay others to get rid of our waste

joint enterprise law its an old law still in use today but could be used against companys and the council

mines not like that
though i did find some head rest hooks or make your own that you can hang a plastic bag onto in middle of the car

the kids and the mrs got warned to use them after i got fed up of cleaning the car out with there rubbish on there sides of the car
the mrs didnt like the idea she has to clean the inside of the car if it continues as it was that bad

mine was always clean as i put my rubbish into the door pocket and cleaned it out later

im ashamed to say it but we are one of the worst countrys for dropping rubbish go abroad on a fully inclusive holiday in a hotel and the next morning the pool and eating aeria is just a filthy mess and has to be powerwashed down

Nothing compared to xmas unfortunately. Factories are running flat out, year round to make sure we have enough tat for the shops in a few months time The amount of xmas waste is hard to get your head around.

Disposable shopping bags are banned so I have to buy bin bags for my rubbish. Does anyone reuse the multi use bags? they are no good as bin bags. I just see people buy a new one each time.
Most fruit and some veg are still plastic wrapped by most supermarkets. Beer can multipacks still have the rings.

All blister display packaging should be banned. Whenever possible I make a point of removing excess plastic packing in the shop for the cashier to dispose of, partly as it takes less space in my bags and bin at home.

Most of their plastics are shipped there by UK councils. They expect us to recycle and then ship it off to dodgy countries!

Not really councils, its the subcontractors like Veolia, who choose how waste is processed, who also slapped a charge on tyre disposal, resulting in a lot of fly tipping. Generally tyres end up in landfill, so I have no problem cutting them up to fit a bin bag. Bit if a pain, luckily I found kwickfit are happy to take some, only thing they are good for.

I have stopped infront of several cars with the cbr6 and made them pick up litter and fag butts, most people see they got caught and will pick it up. Even better with a long queue of cars behind watching them. No doubt as soon as I went, they chucked it again

I notice this "cost of living crisis", cheaper brands have stayed cheap, often made by/in the same factory. The big name brands are the ones putting the price up, and its not essential things but mostly snack food and rubbish.

Same here but I have a Pret subscription so £25 a month and almost all the coffee, smoothies, frappes I can drink BURRRP!

Used tyres are very useful.
Especially for keeping an engine upright when shipping on a pallet. Also make handy planters.
Some countries sink them at sea and create fantastic tropical reefs.

Havent we got enough sht in the sea? Tyres degrade into micro particles like most plastics.
Best use for them is to shed up and use for road/surface filling.

My ex wife worked at Macdo for a week, a decade or more ago. She was a basic universal grunt, clearing tables, mopping floors. But she also had to work the car park picking up the stuff selfish ignorant ***** would chuck out their car window once they stuffed their drive thru meal down their faces.

Plus she had to clean the staff room, where the selfish ignorant ***** who actually worked there would leave their detritus strewn across the table and on the floor when they had stuffed their own meals down their pie holes.

And she was expected to clean the toilets.

And then, believe it or not, she was also expected to serve customers, wearing the same clothes she had cleaned toilets and picked the car park clean in.

The uniform she was given when she started stank of sweat, where some previous slob with nauseating personal hygiene habits had worn it repeatedly. It took 3 wash cycles to get the stench out.

When she first interviewed for the job the manager told her 'Working at Macdo is not for everybody'...


Too bloody right, it's a culture, an institution, of waste and selfishness, sloppiness and laziness. After 5 days there I made her leave.
