TIG showed up about 10am this morning. They had a ball kicking it around the yard!
It survived though despite their best efforts. I took it to PWP Industrial Bedford, they only sell fronius. The guy put it thru its paces. It all came up and I got a chance to melt some steel! These machines are a little menu heavy, so I need to read up on it.
I read out the total arc time and it was only about 400hours. <2hrs per week for the last 4 years.
Got a 20L 200Bar argon bottle earlier, need filler and a reg, gloves..
At the store, we were using a fairly used torch - the one for that machine with the 2 buttons (off his demo/loan unit) and he offered me it for 150 plus vat. In the end I got it for £125 +vat, So dont need pedal now.
So it looks like Im away, I enjoy learning new stuff, may sell my Migatronic MIG now if it really is surplus.
Fancied TIG for years and years, but held out for one that did AC for ally, plus a few tricks.
Need some spare time and a project
