Got a noco gb70 here. Used many times on motorbikes, cars, vans, tractor and 7.5t horse box. Think it's 2000A and was about £160 3 or 4 years ago. Cheaper ones were available but it's lasted really well and I've been very happy with it. Those 4000A gooloos look very good and with twice the capacity than mine, which will start a 6l diesel, and only £100, seem like a great buy!

Really surprised me, the lads ripped the fuel line off the telehandler and then proceeded to crank it over until the battery was flat, I reconnected the fuel line and had to bleed it up using just that Gooloo, couldnt believe it did it.

Always prefer to read real world recommendations....
and wait for @Kram to find it at an unbeatable price on Amazon. For whatever reason (I suspect the dashcam) once in a long while my car has a battery that won't start it even though it is a new battery and well up to the task. As some of you know I am inclined to go off on travels around the country so this has always been in the back of my mind. I have a set of jump leads so I was covered, but relying on someone's generosity, now I am back fully independent again.

I previously resisted as the big ones were just too expensive, even at £80. Also the GooLoo had a more expensive version with usbc fast charging, which I also wanted.
My brother has Yaber branded small one, which seems to work well enough, but there is a big version of it I have been watching similar spec to the GooLoo (I am ignoring the silly numbers, instead looking at battery capacity of 26.8Ah)
Well now we are into spring, prices have dropped a bit. 10% discount and a £25 voucher brings it to £65 and I have bought one.

I too recently bought a Gooloo 4000A. I must say I've been well impressed. Discovery 2 TD5 battery so flat that the central locking wouldn't work! Engine spun over faster than I remember it ever doing and started on the button.
I've been sceptical about these things for some time but the Disco was in a difficult position and getting another vehicle close was an issue. So as Amazon could deliver next day and if it was no good it could go back I went for it. No regrets.

It failedI picked up a 600A at Screwfix last year, not used it in anger yet but I'm expecting to need it when I go to get my classic out of storage.
The one I got has built in LED torch and USB charger, handy when I'm working in the lockup with no power.

After reading the manual I now know it has 2 safety features, an alarm if you connect the terminals the wrong way (great) also a warning that the car battery is scrap if the voltage falls too low
The car has been parked for a couple if months with the battery disconnected and hooked up to a dashboard solar charger. Voltage was 12 volts before I tried to start the car, it turned over but didn't fire.
The booster pack helped 1 time then declared the battery scrap. The battery was still over 11 volts and turning the engine over.
It's designed not to work at exactly the time you need it most. It's going back to Screwfix this week

Thats odd, Ring usually have reasonable stuff.
My Yaber arrived. It is massive, tissue box or glove box sized. Comes in a nice case. Heavier than a big powerbank and not much bigger in electrical capacity, it would be interesting to open it up and compare..

Bought the lad one of the Lidl jump start packs on 12 January 2024. He fully charged it and left it in the car until this week. Went to lend it to someone at work and it was dead. I didn't realise it discharged like this.

Don't know, he put it on charge last night. Not seen him since.
I charged my Gooloo 4000A on 19th January. 20th Jan I started my Discovery 2 TD5 which had a totally flat battery. Yesterday I started my propane Hyster Fork Lift Truck - again totally flat battery - the Gooloo is still showing 100% charged.
I'm well pleased with it.

The good news it held charge for several months while my classic was parked up in storage.
I suspect it did nothing as I was too impatient. It needs to be connected and and left for about a minute to stabilise before turning it on - I was connecting it then trying to turn it on and it did nothing.
It seems to work best by connecting it and letting it transfer charge to the flat car battery for a few minutes before turning the car over. It has power to happily turn the motor over several times which is good.
Summary: suspected operator error
@dobbslc @fizzy @KramSurprisingly, in the test posted above, the booster packs worked better than good quality jump leads from a big car battery. I suspect possibly a higher voltage from the packs. Some of them are very impressive along with one which is a giant capacitor. A flux capacitor next perhaps

A good review but I only lasted about 11 minutes before I had to switch him off
Really good test on these if you can tolerate his voice
