Hi Simon,

Been playing today. Swapped the 0.6 reel to to the 0.8 and been playing with some 3mm plate and then started on the trolley.

Doing a 2 level job with room for gas bottle and a few stubs for hanging things off.

Was trying to be quiet so hand cut the steel rather than angle grinding it so right arm aching a bit (despite all the practice it gets )

Tacked up today, hopefully fully weld it tomorrow evening.

Then on to building an engine skid on castors to move the kit car engine around.

Then onto a welding table, maybe build a new workbench, weld my uprights back into 1 piece. Going to be busy


You Tig'ing yet? Any luck with a garage/workspace?

Going to grind down some welds then can paint up the trolley and get some longer M12 bolts for the wheel axles. Enjoying my first proper project.

first project? sharpening a couple of packets of tungsten's seriously though i haven't decided yet, fancy a crack at an exhaust system but that could be a while coming

The 126 is on hold at the moment since it's in a mates garage. I keep looking for engines but cash is being diverted elsewhere. But I'm hopefully going to finish modding the rear uprights this weekend and then rebuild the rear end of the kit.

The missus is away for a girly weekend in a few weeks so hoping to use that time to put my engine in

nope done neither so shall be a steep learning curve! yep thinking stainless exhaust, will practise on one for the car i have now but doubt it would give much performance increase

have you decided what engine you're gonna put into the 126?

Keep changing my mind about the 126 engine. Been looking at v-twins - Honda VFR800 (good sound, bit down on power) or suzuki TL1000.

But the craving for power means will probably go for fireblade or similar

Yes, I liked that idea too. A mate of a mate works for and races ducatis - was hoping to get one on the cheap but that's probably pushing it a bit.

Prices of 126 were pretty high last year but plumeted recently so now if you don't mind a non runner or equivalent you can get em cheap. Watch out for rust but panels still available and cheap.

There's a family run company called Taz racing who put v8's into 126's - few vids on youtube

Seen a couple for sale in ireland when I was looking. But you're right, you don't see things until you become aware of them (although they're not as common here as in Poland where they still sold them until 2000!)

Seen the M3 one, and there's chavy fiat 500 in pink with cossie engine too.
