Two 35amp PSU in parrallel

Have you tried running DC PSUs in parallel? I tried it in the 1980s and blew up two perfectly serviceable supplies (trying to get 10A from a 7A and a 5A). They were 'traditional' transformer/rectifier/regulator designs but I can't see that modern switched-modes would be any happier about the situation... I am prepared to be proved wrong

Its all about getting the load balance right.

i have 2 class d pa amps with delay, crossover (3 filter types, up to 48 dB/octave), EQ (8 parametric, 2 dynamic), dynamics processing

I'd say that's still missing the point, all my amps, both in car and home/office just provide gain, the car is passive as its a simple system but I usually use a dsp and a fully active setup. My main home amp was chosen as the eq can be defeated so the only control that works is the volume, that is also fed from a dsp, optical out from the PS3 and tv, D to A, then dsp

These amps have dsp and everything can be defeated so can simply provide gain

I hope the you lot who are running these enormous amplifiers (and presumably sound levels) have plans for later life when you've gone deaf or have tinnitus. I also hope your establishments are a LONG way away from me

Years ago I had quite a few set ups in various cars, biggest was 4 15s and two hi phonics colossus amps. Car had uprated alternator with two batteries and split charging system and 6 power caps. Regularly metered 155dB

And your a health & safety consultant! Do you advise about noise levels.

Look at the behringer Inuke dsp I should point out though they're not cheap, but can be had cheaper then when mine was bought at nearly £500 a piece

I do regularly, at those sorts of noise levels the risk of instantaneous hearing damage is unacceptably high. Therefore the use of doubled up hearing protection is absolutely essential. Foam plugs inserted into ear canal with muffs on the ear each with an SNR OF 37 dB will provide more than adequate protection.

The objective of such high noise levels is to experience a feeling of pressure rather than just a simply noise noise level, however you cannot have one without the other

A good bit of bass, especially, is definitely something you need to feel as much as hear.

I have to admit I haven't played around with the software much at all as I use outboard graphics and crossovers, i will have a look next time I have the gear out

Once I moved to a proper dsp I never looked back, Minidsp 2x4 and 8x8's in various uses, both with a digital in option so there is only one stage of d to a on any of my setups

Silly question, where are all the inputs and outputs on the system. Is there some sort of card that fits into a pc ?

This looks realy intersting, just seen it on the web. everything i need and more is incorporated into a single unit with the option of setting it all up with a pc. This is by far much neater and more intergarted solution than the bobbins i was workign on. I think a little more research and then it will be out with the credit card

they are standard xlr balanced inputs you can also use jacks and outputs are speakon, connection to the pc is simply usb although everything is accessible on the amp display and can be use without pc

here we go, the next 2 pics the first 4 filters of the parametric now show what is available and the crossover now also shows different filters

Ok so just industry standard connections then. Ive not done much at the office today but i certainly have a better understanding of this kit, The Behringer NU1000DSP looks like its just the job for what i need at home !
