We are on a time limited bandwidth connection here as well so I download the videos off youtube so I can watch them later or again without using up any more of our allowance. Youtube-dl is the software I use available from https://github.com/rg3/youtube-dl/blob/master/README.md it's completely free, all you need is python on your machine to run it.
Yes they did mention Ackermann and bump-steer repeatedly in episode 11.
The time and effort that went into the design and build of their "Fab bench" must have been immense. By far the best engineering bench I've seen. It's a shame they won't release plans of it - they'd make a decent amount of money off that alone I reckon.
Im suprised they don't appear to use a plasma cutter for shaping parts, its been a learning experience showing how delicate they can be with an angle grinder
Far faster on thin sheet to just pick up the grinder - you don't have all that slag getting blasted into the crevices and a slitting disc is almost as fast, plus you don't have to clean up rough edges.
He'd be even faster if he used a flap disc for the corners rather than all the little slits.
Looked like he was holding a metabo at the start of that video, or are the BnQ's look-a-likes?
I like my Makita's, although the Metabo's we have does seem slightly smoother, it's a little bulkier, I could butter my toast with a Makita and a flap disc.
I noticed that, too - it had the "Performance Pro" (trade descriptions, anyone?) logo on it.The light grey one he uses is a B&Q special and they have used it or similar almost all the way through the series so far. Yes, they do seem to have a Metabo also in this latest episode.
He'd be even faster if he used a flap disc for the corners rather than all the little slits.
I have one and it runs like a diesel. Keep it just use with a wire cup. Takes 2 hands to hold!I noticed that, too - it had the "Performance Pro" (trade descriptions, anyone?) logo on it.
It's like getting an early Xmas present...yay!New sweary outtakes!
