Could of been great, but it wasn't. You don't know if you don't try.
I don't mind them trying but when you realise it didn't work I'd have destroyed the footage rather than posting it online.
I watched during the day yesterday as I'm a supporter, the work in that heater box and the power steering bracket is truly amazing. It's clear they could have had a running car much quicker but it will look like it came from the factory when it's finished with the attention to detail they are putting in.

I watched this morning (before the Band Width Meter kicked in) just amazing very cleaver detailed work ,I love their unfussy to camera style ..serious work , done with a good deal of humour ...and that heater is a thing of beauty ...top stuff..
We are on a time limited bandwidth connection here as well so I download the videos off youtube so I can watch them later or again without using up any more of our allowance. Youtube-dl is the software I use available from https://github.com/rg3/youtube-dl/blob/master/README.md it's completely free, all you need is python on your machine to run it.
Didn't realise those were still a thing. Had business broadband since 2002.
^ I think having that 2ltr turbo'd motor up front plus wider wheels its gonna be a fair bit heavier on the steering than with the asthmatic engine that was originally there so as much as I dislike power steering it makes sense.
Besides which I think they are having it 'cos they can, just like the remote controlled bonnet stuff and central locking and electric windows etc etc rather than building a stripped out ultra light weight car with the best possible power to weight ratio.

Those old toyota motors really are very sweet indeed...the 3sge/3sgte were great engines and pretty bullet proof provided the oil is changed regularly.

The time and effort that went into the design and build of their "Fab bench" must have been immense. By far the best engineering bench I've seen. It's a shame they won't release plans of it - they'd make a decent amount of money off that alone I reckon.
Yes they did mention Ackermann and bump-steer repeatedly in episode 11.
