Did you "just" process the jpeg in Inkscape or did you alter it?

I'm guessing it's a raster to vector type thing it does.

Been playing here ourselves with Inkscape.

Thinking it might be better if I just redraw the whole thing in AutoCAD so I can print and tout it around local. I'm thinking to just scale the photo.

If you wouldn't mind. I'll let my daughter loose on it in Inkscape she's a bit of a knack for arts and crafts but then maybe every parent says that!

Got more patience for the intricate than I have for sure, I'd have squashed the clay!

I didn't realise you could also "draw" in Inkscape. Suppose the name hints at it!

What I'll do is draw it up so it's suitable for the cnc plasma, people can then do as they please with it, are you wanting "The Welders Arms" added into it.

If you get the design from Fraser and print it. Stick it onto a thin bit of ply and cut round the lines allowing a suitable offset (usually about 6mm) you can then run your cut 50 torch round it. Just a thought If you wanted to cut it yourself.

Just been down the proper sign makers and asked "Do you do pub signs?"

The bloke recommend this ali/plastic/ali sandwich and gave me a sample. Looks about 4mm thick without getting the Vernier out:

Said that for a single sided sign it'd be circa £125. That would either be for the oil painting esque landscape sign or the Sun face. In both cases he'd need the graphics. For the landscape a high quality JPEG, for the Sun face a vectorised raster image. However the stuff would probably be too thin for a swinging sign. The alternative was two signs stuck either side of a heavier board, so £250. Or, the 4mm material, printed both sides, non swinging would be £175 ish.

Don't know if that's good, bad or just Southern prices.

Thats simply quite awesome. I was going to message here and enquire if my suggested picture was too complicated, but im blown away with what you have done

Im definitely going to have a go at making the a sign. Who else is going to have a go ?

Now for the technical bit, are the black lines on the image where i would cut with the plasma ?

I could have done more detail but thought it would be to difficult for trying to do free hand. I can cheat and get the cnc to cut one out.
