I’m hoping to visit Shetland for the first time in a few weeks. Have a potential customer on there and this will be the first visit. Really looking forward to it, Inverness is the furthest North I’ve been so far

Slightly different accent, then again up here the accent is different every 10-15 miles
Some you will find easy some not so. Broad Dundee is a struggle for some but if someone says what did he say I say, dinna ast me chief eh dinna ken

I love all the Scottish Banter pages on social media. Really good how they even write in the accent.

Best one I ever saw was when a couple of English guys were trying to rile a Glaswegian on twitter. He just replied with " sook ma boaby" and they didn't have a clue what he said, the messages back and forth between them trying to work it out was hilarious.

I have pulse MMA on the TP180, but have only ever footered about with it. What I’ve found is that it clashes with the way you’d normally manipulate the rod. You have to overcome muscle memory. As noted above, it feels like something included as a byproduct of the nice inverter electronics, but probably intended for niche applications. That said, might have more of a play with it!

If the machine didn’t have it, it would make no odds IMHO.

I have pulse MMA on the TP180, but have only ever footered about with it. What I’ve found is that it clashes with the way you’d normally manipulate the rod. You have to overcome muscle memory. As noted above, it feels like something included as a byproduct of the nice inverter electronics, but probably intended for niche applications. That said, might have more of a play with it!

Aye, took me a while to get into the swing of the pulse Mig, especially the double pulse after all the years of migging Aluminium with a standard Mig.

eh think it wid be great for welding stainless on the vert , we welded thousands of sparkys brackets with 309 to the structure on mariner trick on the vert was to break the arc and go straight in again similar to pulsing

we had some young guns who left a trail of destrucion , they didnt get the platers to remove the aluminium coating
it made welding almost impossible and was like a swallows new

I treated myself to a Fronius Transpocket 180 just this week and it arrived yesterday.
Made the first testwelds today and also played a bit with the pulse function.
With pulse(2Hz) and the arcforce on 5% i can burn 1 whole 1,5mm electrode on 1mm sheet without blowing holes.
With the Kemppi i had to stick to short welds to avoid blowing holes.
So in think it has its value on thin stuf.

Think I might look at getting something, will see if I can sell the wee GYS first though before I decide.

Well I decided to get one so we will see how the pulse works, if not then I should have a nice wee stick welder again after selling the GYS
