R-Tech Welders

I've got an rtech mts210 mig/tig/arc and I'm extremely happy with it. I'm only a hobby welder and their price and service have been great.

Would happily get other gear from them, and I have no ties to the company other than being a satisfied customer.

I have an R Tech 251 acdc Tig welder, I also have a Miller Dynasty 300 DX. The control panels are the main difference between them, other than that they do the same thing and the results are.just the same.
Had the R Tech for 2 years with no problems, bullet proof warranty etc.

At the end of the day, as long as it works and spits out a Little bolt of lightnight, the rest is up to you.

Have you taken the covers off the miller and the RTech. I would imagine more differences will come to light when you do.
Don't get me wrong I'm sure they are good machines and I know owners rave about em but miller is world leading stuff I personally say there is no comparison.

At the end of the day if they both reliably perform the same function what difference does the badge make?

The badge makes no difference and like I say there is nothing wrong with RTech stuff it's got good reviews and priced well.
The way I read your post and the one I replied to earlier I get the impression you believe that other than a badge the RTech and the miller are similar units. I disagree with this entirely and when you whip off the covers of both machines its a world of difference

As someone on another forum said, you don't need a Ferrari to pick up the milk. Of course there will be differences, but to the hobby user or even industrial user who can't afford miller prices then the differences are of absolutely no consequence.

Like I say nothing wrong with RTech . But there is a few more differences than the badge and a panel to the world leaders.
Your right a lot of people don't have miller money to lay out so the rtechs and parwelds are perfect.

I don't sell welding machines nor do I have anything against RTech I simply said RTech and miller are not as comparable as people say in my opinion. I personally think it's a great company with great products and unless you have read my posts properly there is nothing in them to suggest otherwise. Steady on with the insults I've not insulted anyone else and I wouldn't do that I simply explained there are more differences than a badge. That's a fair comment. I'm glad of these uk supported units as I've also said in the past as they give more people the chance to weld

I do think that you are correct Richard. Your posts that I have seen have been well balanced and factual to be fair. One think I have not seen is is anyone claiming Miller and R-tech are comparable like for like . Not that I scour the forums for messages like that I tend to read all the new ones its easier that way.

OK... BMW is much better than Fiat, it's obvious but people buy Fiat anyway, what is the point then in telling them over and over again that this is not only a badge that matters, if all they want is to drive their car to work and back and they don't really mind...

no instulting, just clear logic... I like my Fiat and when somedy asks me, are your ok with your Fiat?? of course... definitely worth buying.

you didn't annoy me, I am ok with your point and you are right but perhaps if someone asks which Fiat to buy, it would be better to tell them which one rather than trying to make them turn to BMW... perhaps I didn't manage to express it the the way I wanted... so big sorry to you too...

The R-tech machines are highly regarded by many on here, mainly because its the only tig machine that many have ever owned so unless it actually breaks it'll be considered as a good machine and to be honest they are pretty good for the money,
the amount of arc time i do is far more than most diy users do so the investment for me is worth it,
there is a big difference on these machines not only in price,
Give me a torch from both machines that are in another room and i'll tell you which one they're plugged into.

And give me a torch from both machines and doubt I could tell.....lol I think the point about R-tech is one you highlight. Even if an R-tech breaks it might still be considered a good machine due to the fact it would be collected repaired and returned all within the warranty.

Your point about investment due to the arc time you do is a very valid point. I only comment when the users is asking for advice when starting. I have no experience of high end machines so leave that to others.

r-tech got german and american parts they only got built in jap land just like the chevy astro day van

Reading back I don't really see any disagreement here to be honest. Everybody seems impressed with RTech as a company. I do agree with chevy2 in the respect that I also spend a lot of time under the lid so shelling out the extra for something better is worth it to me. However fair play to RTech for there no hassle return warrenty it would be nice if other companies could do the same. I took a broken snap on screw driver back last week only to get the old handle back with a new blade. Cheap skates

Just out of interest if the machines were putting out the same magic spark (current wave form ect ) how would you tell

I don't know if I could with the miller to be honest but I could certainly point out my fronius machine on AC. It has what they call "fuzzy logic" which means the AC wave is half as quiet over any other machine I've used. So I could tell my old machine simply from the AC tone over other brands. DC however I doubt that I could notice a difference. Would be interesting to try it
