Yeah I saw it before they also have a facebook page that they dont bother to reply on. It just one of the reasons I did not go that route and headed back to tried and tested R-Tech with 12 months interest fee credit. I know if it breaks it will be back with me in a couple of days at no cost....they are also not re-worked like the R-tech ones are with tested /redesigned parts.

I seriously doubt they have anything remotely related to a significant improvement done.or even tested for that matter.look at the huge number of threads on here about machines that just plain dont work on arrival.
give me a tigmig machine plus £740 every day and twice on sunday
I must admit I'm both intrigued and put off by the sales technique of auctioning these machines at an initial price of a quid.
If you look at what they actually sell for, it's always more or less the same lower limit. It's a shame you can't see who bids for things on ebay these days.

Having visited the factory I think you will find you are totally wrong. however I have no reason to want R-tech to sell anything (other than to be in business to honour my warranties) so if you say they are not reworked or parts redesigned thats fine.
I am confused about all these threads about R-Tech machines that dont work on arrival.
I only say this as I used to work as tech support for Chinese machines (vinyl cutters) and THEY were sold without testing and we used to get 50% back most with stupid faults like loose connectors. I went to R-tech factory before purchasing specifically to see how they worked......suffice to say I now have 3 R-tech machines. Tig and a Mig and Plasma. All three I have paid full price available to the public. One I paid cash the other two I used the six months interest credit to spread the payments. I have just paid the extra to extend the guarantee to 4 years on my Tig 201.
As long as people realsie the pitfalls of buying from abroad thats fine but a new user with what amounts to an advertising post seemed dodgy to me....

Ebay have deliberately designed it this way.
I know as I worked for a company who used to shill bid......still do as far as I know.......I found out, called his bluff told him to stop and I got kicked out with them owing me 40k
EBAY dont care about shill bidding...just try reporting it...You are wasting your time its in their interest for the seller to get the best price as they get a % of the sale/.....

I have to say, I have an rtech but I don't have any particular loyalty to them, however I haven't seen a huge number of threads complaining of machines not working.
I've had mine about 3 years now and not had a single issue, it's not had "industrial" use mind but then I haven't paid industrial prices.
Yes you can get cheaper from abroad but in terms of uk based suppliers I'd say they are as competitive as you'd get, and their customer service gets nothing but praise on here - I'd buy another from them without hesitation.
Surely if there were a "huge" number of machines not working that would make more sense to buy from a uk supplier, and even more so one with a good rep for customer service.

Personally I wouldn't own one but I have to be straight I've not seen a load of threads or posts related to there failures either. Ukracer maybe they are or maybe they ain't reworked I really don't know but what I do know is the extra premium you pay for an Rtech over the other identical machines is for the second to none service they provide. This is charged for in the price of the machine and rightly so because they literally turn a machine warranty round in less than 48 hours.
I've done a lot of research on the Chinese machines as I bought one in the past that lasted five min with no warranty . I use lorch, miller, ewm at work and to be honest the cheap ones lay down just as good a weld , it's just the life time and reliability on the cheap ones you need to worry about . But the price reflects that I guess . In experience the machines I have bought have all done the job needed and I've made the money back over and over on them . Most machines are exactly the same just slightly reworked with a lick of paint and different name on the side . I've had no problems with the customer service from tigmig.it , the times are with me within 3-4 days . Yes it is at my cost one way if it goes back to them but couriers are so competitive nowadays and with the saving I made in the first place it doesn't bother me . I'm not knocking rtech at all heard lots of good things I'm just saying if your on a budget then tigmig.it are worth a look . I've had my inverter mig nearly two years and I've got to say it's a little beast it's not let me down once . The plasma with the correct 16amp supply will cut 10mm no problem and up to 15mm . The ac/dc tig I've not had long but impressed with it so far just a shame it's not got digital control and memory settings .
I'm not a dodgy advertiser I'm just telling people my experience and showing people other options and ways to save money . Your happy with your rtec kit I'm happy with my tigmig kit .

I believe they will all lay down a decent bead but I do also believe there are differences in ability as well as reliablity. I haven't used RTech machines so cannot comment on that particular brand but I have noticed differences is arc stability and hf accuracy when comparing some cheaper to expensive machines. My money would be always put into a used high end machine. (Like the kemmpi on sale at the moment) yes there is no warranty with something like this but I would personally take the risk. Because if it's a good looked after example then it will perform like a dream for more than 10 years. That's what I would do but it's not for everyone and RTech amongst other brands see to it that other affordable options are on the cards.
Myself I don't have the money to go for a high end machine , but I do agree with you if I had the money it would be spent on a Kempi , lorch, esab along those lines . And had I seen the ewm triton when I needed a machine I would poss have gone for it , they are good quality kit . But like I said on a budget I went for the tigmig kit and I'm impressed with it .

That's why I suggested used. A new rtec 250 tig can be sourced for £1500 ish I guess. A used kemmpi mls 2300 is on here at £1700. So roughly the same price but the kemmpi would be more appealing to me. The ewm triton is bidding and will prob fetch around 1400-1600 I guess so it's not far off similar prices. Up side is far superior machine. Downside no warranty. So it's down to the preference of the buyer.

This is what's ultimately important If the guy using the gear is happy with the results it's money well spent what ever it is.

The failure of cheaper electronic goods is highest when used for the first time,falls low as time goes on,rises at end of life.

Now put those 3 facts together and you get the point i mentioned.i dont have time to find every post of rtech failure fresh out of the box.
