The differences are subtle but they are there. First thing I noticed when trying out a particular and similar brand was the hf had a tendency to spike off at an angle (not all the time) the arc would then take a second to correct itself so that it was pointing where I was shooting. On very thin gage stuff this could be a second too long. While welding you could see a fluffy outline on both sides of the arc. It was very stable mind and didn't wonder but wasn't as sharp as the Expensive units I've used and owned. 9 times out of 10 it's not a big deal and Perfectly usable but these are the differences I picked up between 2 brands I tried out. I must stress I cannot say whether Rtech is the same or not as I haven't tested one out and would be unfair to comment.
