Rat poison

Any suggestions on stopping Slugs from eating the damn stuff. ive got some clay pipes wired up, the bait hangs in the middle. The snails are dropping down from the top.

Just ordered some of the cubes to go in one of their boxes on the yard. Looks like the yard woman hasnt renewed her contract with the pest controllers, all the boxes are empty and I have a beastie getting into the chickens outside run

Whilst you are, of course, factually correct, it is somewhat hard for the rat to get into the cavity wall once the fen trap, gun, or jack russel has killed it.

Realistically poison is the only one that creates the stench!

The smell is even worse when the rat feels unwell after eating the poison and finds somewhere nice and warm to die, in our case the combi boiler.

This is is a good rifle for rat control it's put a fair few in the bag over the years. Still as good as the day it was made in 1906

Years since I’ve used poison. I think it’ll all be much of a muchness nowadays, especially the stuff you can buy over the counter.

When i tried several different rat poisons and still had a problem, i rang the council pest control people. The pest man (cost £30 for as many visits that it takes and in our case three visits) said the shop bought stuff i put down for them only gave them a bad belly and being intelligent creatures made his job more difficult. We only saw one dead rat in the boiler where it had eaten some wiring, i think it was partial to black. The ones in the sewer i don't know how many died. The yard at the back was slightly cracked, only a few mm but that was how they were getting out of the old sewer, so i repaired it.

Chucked the rat on the muck heap. Next day it was in the middle of the field as a skeleton with a tail. Hopefully thats the last of the stoat, its not been interested in the trap I put down

Well 1-0 to me. The hole he came in through is now a bit bigger and I have deaf chickens but still got the bugger.

Normally I’d have the terrorist in there with me but chickens and rats are both fair game to her

So we called in artillery and now it’s rat paste. I’m sure there’s more so I’ll come back in a bit when the dust has settled.

No photos as someone will get ‘triggered’ im sure.

Hopefully I’ll get on top of them.

If the chickens find one they’ll kill it. Same with birds that don’t belong. They killed a starling that somehow got in last summer.

My wife has a friend who lives in a house that she rents, it’s infested with mice. She’s not allowed to kill or poison them. She live traps them and releases them in the chicken run

Why can she not kill them? Is the landlord a fkwit?

Hopefully she’s got that in writing when there’s a wiring fire that was attributed to rodents
