its the only way to go, its so much nicer working with stuff that fits together instead of spending ages grinding bits out trying to get a snug fit, they dont cost a lot really and they help keeping the intrest up
bought a party pack of landrover front radius arm bushes to make my engine and gearbox mounts from, found a 60mm od tube with a 5mm wall chopped into 50mm lengths will take a LR bush nicley, just pushes in with a vice

Hi, a range rover p38 transferbox will drop the output to the passenger side.
If reverse on the gearbox is all the way to the left and forward its a lt77, to the right and back is a r380

its an R380 l have then, l had forgotten all about reverse identifying which box is which, old age and memory loss etc
p38 transfer box is not remote ( is it ?) and they are a bit too bulky to squeeze into my little smart body but l will store that info away as my mind is wandering into the next project already and l do like a V8

l have made the radius arm chassis brackets bigger/longer than they need to be as it will allow me to use alternative fixing holes and move the axles back or forward if l havent quite got the wheels to sit in the wheel arches properly,
the extra holes behind the radius arms are for hanging the cutting deck off

no l dident draw up the lazer cut parts, for the easy stuff like the axle brackets l just told them the radius of the cut out part and the distance from it l wanted the hole plus the dia of the hole and they knocked the drawing up in about 15 seconds for the more complicated stuff like the plates that connect to the rubber coupling to the gearboxs l worked it all out and dimensioned it and got my brother to draw it and save it as an eps file which l emailed to the cutters having first cut one out on the vynl plotter to check it fitted ok
heres the coupling plates that are above but in 8mm steel
and my garden is the same size as everyone elses ( tiny ) and its all block paved to boot, the time saved by not mowing the lawn l dont have allows me to get more time in the workshop to biuld my mower
l took the standard flange that was on the back of the gerabox and machined the flange off untill it was a good press fit into the lazer cut disc
this will be welded on and will then bolt to the rubber coupling which will in turn bolt to the lada transfer input coupling
this has got the overall length for the coupling down to a minimum

well l have sorted out the connecter between the gerabox and the transfer box, then l moved on to the gearbox mount, sometimes you just have to make something so as you know how you dont want it lol,

then l had to dig out my hyd press l made as an aprentice many many many years ago, but it still works well, good job l had some tooling for range rover radius arm bushes, done enough over the years lol
well l dident like that much so l did it again
that looks better to me, good job l have one of them ronco pocket lazers that run on a pp9 battery for knocking out all my brackets

ok needs some help here,
l need some coil over shocks for the mower, l was thinking of golf or fiesta rear but the top fixing isent bolt through which is what l was after,
l found these on ebay
vw beetle front, but the description on ebay says "helper" coil over springs which makes think that the beetle is torsion bar and the coil springs wont be enough on their own ??
has anyone got any ideas which vehicle l can rob some some coil over shocks off that have a bolt fixing each end ??
