I had a pair like that, like combat boots and I agree comfy as a comfy thing
I got a pair of them a couple of years ago. They transformed the Dutch para boots I used on the bike - turning them into ten seconds on and off, instead of wrestling with so-called rapid lace-up systems. They don't quite hold the boot on to the foot quite as tightly, but for my use they're fine.Making life eazy in laced boots can be helped by these http://www.silvermans.co.uk/collections/footwear/products/black-zipits?variant=4193297603 but they can rip your feet apart if you have do much walking, depends on your foot arch.
Just shown my grand son the walk.Brill he saidI know you have had good wear out of your boots, but as you use to go from workshop to house only, these are cheap for a punt into the unkown. http://www.silvermans.co.uk/collect...fters-pull-on-safety-boots?variant=4194298563
You mentioned you prefer lined, but I find linings compact and lose their efficiency so I prefer unlined boots and add thicker socks/insoles as required.
My feet play up if they get cold as I got Trench foot some years back (my slit trench was only 12" deep) so I use socks/insoles and these if required https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hot-Hands-Foot-Warmers-pairs/dp/B01HNK5PL8
You just put a fresh pair in each day if needed.( I explained that to a Royal Marine, by Friday, he could not get his boots on)

Military boots are often a good bet, but they won't have steel toe caps if you need to have that feature.
Only thing to watch for in Military boots are these http://www.silvermans.co.uk/collect...made-officers-boots-lo-leg?variant=4194857539
If you wear them, you will walk like this:
These are the boots I live in! View attachment 89090 View attachment 89091
A toe protector was something I tried to find with no success, except some American who never replied to emails. Several pairs of my boots met an unsightly end because the toes just got frazzled away to nothing in a few weeks, when I was kneeling a lot doing pipework. I just kept using the boots, of course, because they still functioned perfectly well, just looked ugly as sin with their naked steel toes. The American toecover was a hard plastic or rubber shell to keep the leather in good condition and it meant you could go dancing with them in the evening if you wantedPlus one for the Sievi's, I've used them for over 11 years at work and whenever I need new boots its another pair of the same. Good wrap over toe protector stops the toes getting worn down to the toe cap, any without it last 6 months at best. I have a pair of gel insoles in mine makes them a bit better when you're on your feet for most of an 11 1/2 hour shift and covering plenty of miles every day.
Ok untill you get Weld Spatter down the boot.Take ages to get off!!!Foundry boots for me. They take (at least) a week to break in though.
I've been using them for m0re than twenty years. Trust me they don’t..Take ages to get off!!!
Yeah; I always thought they were just tidied up versions of the wrecked toecover ones, but I see they're actually made like that.Remember the boots with the steel toecaps exposed?
