Agreed, failing foundry boots (difficult to get now) I used leather boot laces, they too get damaged by hot slag lodging in the tongue area but they do last longer than conventional laces.
I bought the same ones back in October 2015, the toes in them are worn to the point the steel toe cap is almost falling out, however, I wear them for 10hrs a shift as well, and they are still as comfy as the day I got them. I had a pair of Dr. Martens before but they had the traditional Yellow Dr. Marten sole, my soles felt like they are burning within a couple of hours. So I was hesitant getting these ones, but turned out to be well worth the money.I spend the best part of ten hours a day in my boots and for the first time in my life I spent more than £40 on a pair. I bought the cushion sole Dr Martin`s and they are like wearing slippers, they dont rub socks out and I find my legs are not dropping off by mid day. Not to be confused with the soles that get punctured and the present ones have outlasted my old dealerboots twofold. http://www.safetybootsuk.co.uk/safe...-with-steel-toe-caps-ampamp-midsole-work-0014
