Also It doesn’t but it will need to be something with a hard surface. Even silver steel I managed to mark up a little bit when I tried my luck .

Comes up about 1.7mm wall.

There are two bearings on the top. There’s no axial load on the gearbox.

I used similar. Bear in mind the force will be pushing them downwards so if they’re supported well it shouldn’t be any issue at all. I jacked my jack as hard as I could to try and bend something and they’re fine.

When you spaced your pillow blocks along the top of the channel was that just random?

I'm having trouble figuring how, when using these roller benders, you obtain a desired radius! Do you just roll and measure, roll a bit more?

Yes pretty much. For me the only real dimension I wanted was the closest together one. This obviously allows a tighter radius.

Oh well, other than a bit of galvanised 4x2 channel, all I've got is these 3 bits of 6x3 1/2 channel.

Thinking to use channel at the front and back for the uprights instead of 10mm plate because that's all I've got!

Or...I've some 2x2x1/4 angle I could use for the uprights.

I am seriously considering motorising my "new" set of rolls. "New" as in, I have the rollers I have the gears and I have the bearings. Oh and I have an idea. Depends on the speed, but I would have thought anything over half a horse would do it

I've been offered an Italian, industrial gate motor to drive the roller. Removed working, c/w control board. I know the torque and subsequently closing force of the gate has to be limited (by law I believe) but that's set up usually by pots on the PCB. At the end of the day it's just a 230V motor with 3 wires, fwd/com/rev if it's anything like my gate one. Be good maybe to keep the ramp up/down options the board likely offers.

As for drive then the motor might need to be inverted. Wonder if the shaft is removable?

Or I could print new gears even...

Probably not a lot, the main issue is the starting power. When it’s starting under load it take a fair bit of power to get it going.

Absolutely worst ways you could just gear it down further really easily if you were to use chain and sprockets, rather than direct drive.

I would be inclined to get something like mine if it were me, maybe try and get something a bit more powerful and maybe slightly faster. Then if you gear it down it won’t be to slow.
