I have a Ford D Series 10 tonner, not as bad as the one in your picture but it could do with some love. I've seen lots in Morocco but I never realised they exported them to NZ as well.

We used one as the shunt unit years ago when I was sheeting before Tautliners came in. It was an evil thing with no mirrors, knackered kingpins and you had to brace yourself against the bulkhead to press the clutch. It still had the windows in so it was a luxury really.

Mine is a long wheelbase tipper and was used mainly for grain haulage. 5 speed box, 2 speed back axle and full air brakes.
I lost interest in the restoration so it got pushed onto the back burner.
It's still driveable but only the air handbrake is connected as I took all brake line off to replace them.
The new ones are made but I got fed up with cleaning up the chassis and don't want to put the new brake lines back on before I've
finished cleaning and painting it.
It had the Custom Cab but it was completely rotted out so I took all the Custom pieces off and fitted a later decent cab and at some stage I will fit all the Custom Cab trim and panels back onto it.
It's good fun to drive, I've only driven it empty and touching the brakes throws you through the windscreen as there are no load adjusters on it.
It's one of those projects lined up for when I retire, along with my boat!

Great pics, I found some stuff in an old WW2 Maquis camp (sort of part of the resistance), not as good as your stuff, but I'll go back there and take some photos.
Have to make sure no boche patrols about first though.

Went back and took pics as promised, vehicles may have been from later date as place may have been used to make "eau de vie" (moonshine).
Maquis/resistance did use vehicles as they were needed to transport arms and kit parachuted in.
Anyway, some pics:

this was one of my best "finds", the bit on the front is a bottle opener, before that, I had it as the gear shift knob on a hot rod and on a foot clutch Harley.

I'll keep you in mind Jonesy mate, I always joke about finding a Sten, but if I did it would probably be more lethal to the bloke at the trigger end .

According to legend, lots of stuff was buried, first to hide it from the Germans, then after, to hide it from the Government. Some truth in it I would guess, I do know that when the airborne lads landed on Pegasus Bridge, the owner of Café Gondree dug up a cache of champagne he had hidden from the Boche.
