Good evening all. How's your weeks going? Mines been slower that I'd like but I've made progress in a few areas. I've finished the gate today. I decided to go ahead and make the Sai drop bolts. I'm pretty happy with them and think they finish off the gate nicely. I made the drop bolts from 16mm black round. I fired up the forge to tapper the end of the handle. I left a section at the end of the handle to forge into a octagonal shape at the end of the tapper. Then wrapped the handle in 4mm bright round.
With regards to the security. It is something I was Waitrose about. I got some security sleeves which I'll spotweld to the pin. That way they need a grinder to cut it off.

I'm betting you enjoyed making those now the main part of the gates are done. Looks like we can both see the light at the end of our respective tunnels.
