This is the one i went with, through weldes.DE which seemed good, but i got stung by paypal on the exchange rate got to watch ebays currency conversion prices! As mr Pigeon says probably best with a credit card

Yes but you must just need one for the boot of your car, for emergency use obviously

Specified DPD delivery which was slightly cheaper and I know they make it up the farm lane to our place. E-mail came through later the same day saying despatched with UPS scheduled delivery 21/5. Have to wait and see whether it gets here. Not as confident in UPS finding our place.

Didn't notice the voucher code. I was thinking of upgrading my old Parweld screen to one of these modern large window true colour view things. Any recommendations? The ESAB A40 Savage seems the cheapest true colour on Weldes.de but not particularly large viewing area 100x50. The speedglass are out of my price range for the limited use it would get.

Think that's a different 2 pin plug, the earth points are on the outside of the Sherman's, guessing there is a 16A European plug with an earth pin/hole

The earth on the 2 pin plug may just push alongside the pin in the adaptor above.

That's a 16A German "Shuko" plug ( "Shutz Kontakt" = protection contact ). The earth connectors are either two metal strips down the sides of the plug, or a male pin in the socket, which mates with a hole in the plug. Various EU countries had either one system or the other, but typically the plugs are now universal and can work with either type of earth pin arrangement.

Hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting links - no connection to any sellers, etc - so if a mod wants to zap the links and leave the details, that's fine too!

For doing the pedal cable replacement, I used:

• an XS12 plug (see note below - often described as a "reverse" connector because of the gendering of the plug).
• 5 core soft rubber cable 0.3 or 0.5mm^2 (it is very flexible!) - 0.5mm might hold its own for soldering a little more.
• I didn't bother soldering at the pedal end and cut the cables inside the pedal and used Wago 221s (unlike the bigger Wagos, these need lining up carefully to join - it's possible to insert the cable in too far). Revisiting, I would probably just solder at the pedal end too.

There are sellers on ebay, but I'm still waiting on an ebay order for these, hence the amazon link!)

• WAGO 221's - anywhere you can find them - pretty common

For more general torch stuff, as you may now be aware, the:

• power connectors are Dinse 35-50
• gas connector is M10 * 1 (unlike the Jasic, which has a front panel quick connector)

As such, for those 3/8BSP combined power/gas torches, a kit like this is useful, as those packs come with an M10 gas swivel nut/tail and a type 21 male connector, so can easily be made up to fit either Sherman or Jasic variants. The pipe clips will easily clamp up with pinchers or pliers at a push - the pipe is soft and small.

There's also quite a surplus of pipe for a little welder, so you can use this (and get a 6mm tailed type 21 female connector) to make an M10-quick adapter up too

For the 16A power plug, I am very fond of the PCE midnight range, so I got some of them - like the WAGO connectors, these are fairly ubiquitous.

Hope that's of some use for those of you that don't have the machine in front of you - for those of you that haven't yet got your (now apparently top selling ) welders yet, you can get the more distant orders to the Far East in now
