Just need to figure out what wire goes to what pin. That's the one I went for aswell as it seems to have 5 pins, so hopefully 5 core also.

Rather than try and suss out translating from whichever plug is on there - start with the pedal end - there should be six screws on the bottom of the pedal. Take it from there and then my photos of the pedal and diagrams (from Hood & my CnP from electronics stackoverflow) earlier in the thread.Just need to figure out what wire goes to what pin.
That's an interesting question - I wondered the same and couldn't find a clear answer. I'd appreciate views on that from folk with extensive (i.e. >1 machine!) TIG experience too. Despite changing the cable on mine, I've not really used the pedal in any of my TIG practice. There's enough going on for nowWhat is the function of the extra potentiometer, limiting the current?
Wonder why, or is it for when you can't reach the dial on the machine itself?
I never use a pedal on any machine so am not familiar with them but...Bit of an odd one, when I am in ac pulse, I have the option of changing base amps from 0-200 but when I put the machine in remote For the pedal I can then only put it from 1-20 amps, anyone know what’s going on?
As before, I've never really used the pedal in anger, but thought I'd try this. In both pulse modes, I see something similar.Bit of an odd one, when I am in ac pulse, I have the option of changing base amps from 0-200 but when I put the machine in remote For the pedal I can then only put it from 1-20 amps, anyone know what’s going on?
Hello people
First post on the forum, but just to say...
After umming and arring till my brain hurt. Finding this thread has encouraged me to cancel one order and order one of these today.
Complete noob, but really keen to learn to tig. So likely to be seeking advice from the collective fairly soon. Can’t wait
Nah, that is what I would use.oh bum. I'm going to have to order some aluminium rods.
I'm guessing 2.4mm is too big to use on 1mm box section?
Nah, that is what I would use.
When I got my first Tig, probably 15 or more years ago, I bought some 1.6mm 5356 rods, I think I have used about 2 of them in all these years.Thinking about, the place I got my "training" welded everything from 1mm to 8mm with 2.4 rods. (and the machines set to "auto balance", and "don't fiddle with it").
I think you will be happy with it, I am certainly not regretting buying it...
Thanks
Your postings in this thread certainly helped me decide.
This forum is proving to be a great help, but highlights just how much there is to learn!
