Sherman Tig (Jasic in disguise?)

I ordered on Sunday, and also had the automated reply, which doesn’t mention a delivery date. It does say my order is No is 24 (seems a bit of a low number, wonder how long Greyeagle have been in business...). Be interesting to compare order numbers with you and Hood’s mate.
I am inclined to hang on for a while, I’ve got plenty to occupy myself with in the meantime, maybe learning Polish would be useful..

I was order number 23, so you might be waiting a while....
Asked for a refund this morning and it's just shown up, so I'm happy enough with that.

You would think there is gold inside . Get yourself a parweld xtt212 as much better machine and 3 year warranty.
I know cause I have both and both I mean not the polish copy but the jasic mini

So yoy would choose the Parweld over the Jasic? Why? (Just asking, because I just have received my Jasic.)

Here is how it works on the Stealth.
Turn pot on torch to Max so the display on the welder will be for torch Max. You can adjust what that max will then be by adjusting the dial on the welder and then altering the pot will go between min and the max you ave just set.

Had a play and can't get the display to change with pedal position, even with the trigger disconnected, looks like we found the difference! Think ill survive without it though

Hi lads been reading this thread over the last couple of weeks because looking to buy a R Tech AC/DC set. i must say lots of good information especially thanks to the lads that stripped and compared machines but that boat as sailed my question is do i need a R Tech £1500 machine or is the Parweld XTT212 which i like a better compromise but doesnt have all the different wave forms are they needed cheers

Personally i Forget about £1500 for the r tech as would I know I would prefer the parweld, jasic or sherman over it. And will be cheaper.

I have been welding for years with stick little tig use and that was mainly scratch start are all the wave forms needed ?

No mate keep your money in the bank as both these will blast the Rtech away as i have had all 3 but now my main one is the parweld and jasic for home use anyway. 750 for machine only XTT212 with an adaptor for any torch is bleeding half price. Also size is a biggie as the rtech is bigger than my dog Kennel were as the other 2 are more modern with later PCB hence smaller a lot smaller.
Tig waveforms I personally only use one but the difference is
Soft square wave provides a smooth, soft, "buttery" arc with a fluid puddle and good wetting action. The puddle is more fluid than with advanced square wave and more controllable than with sine wave.

Sine wave offers a soft arc with the feel of a conventional power source. It provides good wetting action and actually sounds quieter than other waves. Its fast transition through the zero amperage point also eliminates the need for continuous high frequency.
The triangular wave offers peak amperage while reducing overall heat input into the weld. This leads to quick puddle formation, low weld distortion, and fast travel speeds. It is especially good for welding thin aluminum.

been looking for a good few weeks the sherman would have been a great buy in hindsight but was to late then you look at at stahlwerk at £700 it makes the parweld a no brainer at under a grand for machine and torch etc

i forgot to ask have you ever had any issues with the low duty cycle on the parweld

Nope as I dont really look at duty cycle as in reality your no were near it tigging as you stopping and starting fitting up then back on it.

when you break it down what your paying for the parweld machine quality and 3 years warranty in this country its not a bad deal that said ill ring tomorrow and there will be none left

Thing is if the sherman goes bang then what a ball ache having it sorted to send if back and pratting around waiting for it to return. Like I said before as there are many more new members looking at these but if you see who purchase them at the beginning the guys are good welders and they are a second or third welder purchase so if it goes bang they have others to fall back on. If its your first tig and all that then purchase from UK if nothing else as support is the first thing I would bs looking at rather than duty cycle with these kind of machines

You are right bought the sherman purely for the ac properties as it was a cheap way to fill that gap in my abilities with a guaranteed semi decent welder. It wont get used often but its there purely to do a few jobs my other welders cant but arent time critical or will appear that often, as my swp digi mig 200 is lift tig only and my lorch micor tig was bought specifically for its battery capabilities, if an acdc version was out id have probably bought one of those and not bothered with the sherman.

Welding wise this is with dirty steel and dirty silicon rod for a quick demo. Parweld is the top weld and jasic underneath ignore the coloured bead View attachment 239499
This is 0.5mm mild as I only work with up to 1.6mm at home

Any chance you could do a comparasing with stainless rod and clean material please ?
