Sherman Tig (Jasic in disguise?)

The yellow one only has a 2 pin plug looking at photo
So no pedal provision

Wonder if the boards are the same as the Jasic/Sherman....and all they did was downgrade the pedal connector

In the sherman/jasic the connectors bolt straight onto the board, hence the uppy downy configuration. But maybe they used jumper cables or bars the manual is the most compelling evidence, but words are easier to change than hardware, might just blame a missprint if it's not the same

The Shermans have bar connectors from board to dinse sockets so they could really be placed anywhere but obviously the vertical setup is the most straightforward.

Can you imagine paying less than £400 for the welder fantasy and opening it to find it is the same inside!

That is seriously cheap for an ACDC Tig....but I guess if its confirmed to be the same it'll all be sold out in the blink of an eye!

I was looking at some of their MIG/MAG machines as I would like one for the workshop, honestly I get the impression half of these machines are all from the same factory. I see the same thing time and time again with my electronics equipment.

On another note, does anyone know if it is possible to keep the Sherman in remote (pedal) mode, or do you need to faff around with the pedal connector every time you turn it on? If so I'm adding an inline connector which is more robust.

Or here's a thought, if this supplier has gone to the effort of rebuilding his web business because of increased hits, maybe hes a reasonable chap and can see an opportunity.
If he has any demo units maybe ask nicely if he can lift the lid on one and take some photos? If the pictures add up he will get a lot more business...

For the pedal, I seem to remember that you just need to do the floor it for five seconds thing each time it's turned on (from memory, not tried it just now!) - is it not working that way for you?

My finger is hovering over the buy button on the grey eagle site. Has anyone had one delivered from there yet? Or has anyone tried to buy and found they are also out of stock? It sounds safe enough if payment is by PayPal, but I’m a bit concerned what the other half is going to say when it gets delivered..

Just get your Mrs her own house - then you can get what you like delivered without grief.

Am going to say the orange belongs to Kemppi...they date back to 1949...first welders made in the 1950s according to Google and their web site.

I wonder what Jasic was making in 1950!

Jasic may have started to implement a change as i was given one last week and its different from my last one . The fan is quieter plus the control panel is way better as the turn button feels like my lincoln plus to touch buttons are more pronouced. I will have a play this week to see if I notice any more differences but won't be stripping this one down as its never ending this topic

I’m not sure I understand - the red and yellow wires in the photo don’t correspond to what you have written in the note. Is that why the current adjustment doesn’t work. Sorry, might be a very dumb question!

The manual says the pedal must be disconnected when you set it to 200A. I can't say I've tried it with the pedal connected though.

What are you meaning regards the 200 amp?
If I just press my torch trigger for 5 or so seconds it will go into remote mode so I presume the same would happen with the pedal.

This is what I saw in the manual, although I realise now I mistook the first point in the "Please note" section as an asterisk. It still does imply that you must adjust the current with the pedal connected.
